The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation has announced the cast for the third annual Born for Broadway benefit, which will take place at the American Airlines Theatre, 227 West 42nd Street, on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 8 PM. Tony nominated director Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Ragtime) will direct; Lawrence Yurman (On A Clear Day You Can See Forever, Grey Gardens) is the Musical Director.

Pop singer Aaron Carter, currently starring in the Off-Broadway production of 'The Fantasticks,' stopped by rehearsal for the York Theatre Company Musicals in Mufti concert staging of 'The Show Goes On' to say hi to Tom Jones and the cast. Mr. Jones is the writer of 'The Fantasticks' and 'The Show Goes On.'

Three years ago I posted a review emphatically praising the Prospect Theatre Company's developmental production of Jim and Ruth Bauer's The Blue Flower, calling it, 'a unique, intelligent and wondrously creative evening of musical theatre' that 'skillfully tackles the tricky business of mixing the art of musical theatre with the anti-art movement of Dada.'  A German creation born amidst the rubble of the First World War, Dada was an artistic, literary and theatrical movement that attacked the sensibilities of a culture that could send millions of young men to slaughter by celebrating anarchy and irrationality.
