Acclaimed jazz stylist Jane Scheckter will make her Metropolitan Room debut with her all new show, 'Play A Simple Melody - A Tribute to Irving Berlin,' with four shows only on Tuesday, Sept. 1, Wednesday, Sept. 2, Tuesday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept 13. All shows are at 7:00 except Sept. 2 which is at 7:30. Tedd Firth will be musical director with Tom Hubbard on bass and Peter Grant on drums. Metropolitan Room at Gotham is located at 34 West 22nd Street (between 5th & 6th Avenues.) There will be a $20 music charge and a two drink minimum. Discounts for MAC, NYSMS and Cabaret Hotline. FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed 'Best of New York' by New York Magazine, and 'an invaluable New York institution' by The New York Post, continues its 10th Anniversary season with the debut of renowned jazz pianist, composer and vocalist BARBARA CARROLL. The show, which will also feature Jay Leonhart on bass, runs Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25 at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director), who brought to the stage the successful, seven season run of the children's show Maya the Bee, has announced a special, six-performance run of the acclaimed children's jazz puppet show The Cat Who Went to Heaven at The Harlem School of the Arts Theater (647 St. Nicholas Avenue @141st Street). Directed by Will Pomerantz, with music and lyrics by Nancy Harrow (creator of the Maya the Bee production), this delightful show is based on the 1931 Newbery Award-winning children's book by Elizabeth Coatsworth.

Culture Project (Allan Buchman, Artistic Director), who brought to the stage the successful eight season run of the children's show Maya the Bee, has announced the return of their children and family series with The Cat Who Went to Heaven, a jazz puppet show directed by Will Pomerantz, with music and lyrics by Nancy Harrow (creator of Maya the Bee) and based on the 1931 Newbery Award-winning book by Elizabeth Coatsworth.
