Casting Announced for Asolo Rep's MORNING AFTER GRACE

Asolo Rep continues its repertory season withMORNING AFTER GRACE, a poignant comedy about new love for the older set. Penned by playwright Carey Crim, a fresh voice for the American stage, and directed by Asolo Rep Associate Artist Peter Amster (Asolo Rep: Born Yesterday, Living on Love, The Matchmaker, and more), MORNING AFTER GRACE previews January 17 and 18, opens January 19 and runs in rotating repertory through March 4 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Pegasus Theatre Chicago Announces 31st Young Playwrights Festival

Pegasus Theatre Chicago is proud to announce the authors and plays being presented at the 31st Young Playwrights Festival, Jan. 4 27, 2018 at Pegasus's resident home Chicago Dramatists, 773 N. Aberdeen. Each play is written by high school students and given a staged professional production. The winning productions are performed in tandem Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Previews are Thursday, Jan. 4 Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. each night. Press opening is Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $18 for students, $25 for seniors and $30 for general admission and are available at PegasusTheatreChicago.org or by phone at 866.811.4111.

Eclipse Theatre Announces 9th Annual Corona Award; Ceremony On 1/22/18

Eclipse Theatre Company announces the recipient of 2018's Ninth Annual Corona Award: Ron OJ Parson, Court Theatre Director and Resident Artist. The Corona Award honors individuals who play support and nurture the growth of the Chicago theatre community at-large as well as small- to medium-sized theatres like Eclipse Theatre. The evening will be hosted by Eclipse ensemble member and Goodman Theatre artist emeritus Steve Scott, with other guest presenters to be announced.

Nick Thune Returns to The Second City for One-Night-Only Event with Goose Island

The laughter and the award-winning beer will flow for one night only when Goose Island's Bourbon County Brand Stout presents ten-time Tonight Show guest and offbeat comedy darling Nick Thune at The Second City's UP Comedy Club. Adored by audiences for his absurdist view and deadpan wit, Thune will bring his signature style of comedy and storytelling to the Chicago venue for three performances at 6:30, 8:30, and 11:00 PM.

Goodman Theatre Concludes 40th Annual A CHRISTMAS CAROL with 'Tiny Tim Drive'

Goodman Theatre and Candlelighters NYC partner for the launch of the theater's Tiny Tim Drive a charitable effort during A Christmas Carol that spotlights one service organization selected by the young performer portraying Tiny Tim. Candlelighters NYC from which 10-year-old actor Paris Strickland has personally benefited supports families who travel to New York City for pediatric cancer treatment.

New Works by Calamity West, Daniel Zaitchik and More Set for Roundabout Underground Reading Series

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the seventh annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Selina Fillinger, Harrison David Rivers, Korde Arrington Tuttle, Calamity West and Daniel Zaitchik.

Immersive SOUTHERN GOTHIC Invites Audience Into 1960s Cocktail Party

Windy City Playhouse announces an expansion in programming with a world-premiere immersive theatrical production, Southern Gothic, premiering February 7, 2017 in an open-ended engagement. Written by Leslie Liautaud and directed by David H. Bell, Southern Gothic gives audiences the opportunity to be a fly on the wall at a cocktail party in Ashford, Georgia in the 1960s where four couples gather together to celebrate a birthday.

MUSEUM: Lecture Comes to The Exponential Festival at The Brick

James and Jerome make hyper-literary live-music storytelling spectacles for the theater. With MUSEUM: Lecture, co-created with media designer Shawn Duan and co-directed by Tony-nominee Rachel Chavkin and Annie Tippe, they turn their attention to visual art, calligraphy, and illuminated manuscripts to create a love letter to the museum experience one that is at once an art lecture, a personal essay, a piece of theater, and a live electronic music composition, all meditated through with the audience. MUSEUM: Lecture is James and Jerome's answer to Susan Sontag's call for an erotics of art.

The Second City's SHE THE PEOPLE: Girlfriends' Guide To Sisters Doing It For Themselves Returns To The Stage

Back by popular demand, The Second City's She the People: Girlfriends' Guide to Sisters Doing It for Themselves, a sketch show created, designed and performed entirely by the women of Second City, returns to the stage in 2018. Under the direction of Carly Heffernan with musical direction by Mary Mahoney, She the People runs January 11 April 1, 2018, in The Second City's UP Comedy Club, with the press opening on Thursday, January 18th at 8pm. Complete Casting Announced For Asolo Rep's SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE

Asolo Rep proudly kicks off its repertory season with SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE, the stunning new stage adaptation of Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard's triumphant Academy Award-winning film. The film starred Gwyneth Paltrow as Viola, who garnered an Oscar for the role, Joseph Fiennes as Will, and Dame Judi Dench as Queen Elizabeth. This lush, sweeping and timeless romantic comedy will be helmed by director and choreographer Rachel Rockwell. Originally produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions and adapted for the stage by Lee Hall, SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE previews January 10 and 11, opens January 12 and runs in rotating repertory through March 28 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts & McCoy Rigby Entertainment present the third show of its 2017-2018 season (and the 40th anniversary of the iconic theatre) with CABARET, book by Joe Masteroff (based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood), music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb with musical direction by David O, choreography by Dana Solimando and directed by Larry Carpenter.
