Award shows are always full of special performances by several musicals. These performances are usually given by casts of nominated, long-running or upcoming shows, but the audience of the MUSICAL AWARDS GALA was treated to a special performance of the Broadway Cast of ON YOUR FEET! this evening, in honour of the announcement of the upcoming Dutch production, which will start previews in October. After the performance, Gloria Estefan awarded the Audience Award to THE BODYGUARD, produced by Stage Entertainment which will also produce ON YOUR FEET!. Enjoy the performance below!

A new production of Broadway musical ON YOUR FEET! will open at the Beatrix Theater Utrecht this October, as was announced by Stage Entertainment's Managing Director and Producer Albert Verlinde: 'I am very happy that we obtained license rights to produce Emilio and Gloria Estefan's musical ON YOUR FEET!. I visited the show a few times on Broadway last year and it is an irresistible that literally gets the audience on their feet.' The production in the Netherlands is the first production outside the United States. Emilio and Gloria Estefan will visit the Netherlands this week to present the musical to the Dutch audience. Gloria Estefan will also present a Musical Award during Thursday's Musical Awards Gala.

Today, BBVA Compass Broadway at the Hobby Center announced its line-up of shows for the new 2017-2018 season.  HAMILTON will play its Houston engagement April 24-May 20, 2018, and anchor the BBVA Compass Broadway Season with five other shows, all of which will be Houston premieres.

In 'Happy New Year, Charlie Brown,' the PEANUTS gang is ringing in 1986 and Marcie and Peppermint Patty are throwing a big New Year's Eve bash. Charlie Brown plans to celebrate the holiday by curling up with a big book that weighs nearly as much as he does: Tolstoy's War and Peace. The book's weight doesn't stop him from lugging it to Lucy's pre-party dance class, where he cuts a mean rug with a rollicking Patty. With just 1131 pages to go, Charlie Brown takes another break, this time for the party, and summons the courage to invite his true love, the little red-haired girl. She doesn't respond, but hapless Chuck shows up anyway - with Tolstoy in tow. Then he settles down with the book - on a porch swing in a snowstorm, and in so doing, misses the evening's big surprise. This broadcast of 'Happy New Year, Charlie Brown' airs MONDAY, DECEMBER 26 (8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m EST) on ABC.
