In a profile for The Boston Globe, mega-producer, theater-owner and all-around theatre impresario Cameron Mackintosh revealed he thinks Neil Patrick Harris would be 'perfect' to star in his reworked version of BARNUM, which is set to launch a UK tour this September (starring Brian Conley). That is, if Harris's 'schedule ever opens up'.

New York Public Radio Station WFUV Honored with 2014 News and Sports Journalism Awards

The news and sports departments of the New York public radio station WFUV (90.7 FM/wfuv.org) are distinguishing themselves again this year in awards competitions. The New York State Associated Press announced that the station had earned first place in three professional categories. News & Public Affairs Director George Bodarky received two of them: Best News Special Documentary (shared with recently graduated student journalists Morlene Chin and Julie Clark) and Best Interview. In addition, Bodarky received special mentions for Best News Series, Best Spot News Coverage, and the Art Athens General Excellence of Individual Reporting award. The other first place award went to one of WFUV's student journalists, recent graduate Alex Smith for Best Sports Coverage. In the student competition for The Memorial Award for Best News Story, Kris Venezia took first place.

Emmy Rossum looked as lovely as ever yesterday at the Sundance Institute Vanguard Leadership Award honoring Glenn Close. Rossum wore a floral dress by Katharine Kidd in blues, silvers and purples. Mary Gatchell is a singer/songwriter in NYC, a graduate of NYU, who performed with The Rolling Stones as back-up singer in their 50 th Anniversary tour in NYC for three concerts last year. Soon, Mary Gatchell will be coming on from NYC to teach the Sing Out I voice camp at Leddy Center, June 23-June 27, for 6 to 9 year olds, 3:30pm to 5:30pm at Leddy Center's beautiful theater on Ladd's Lane in Epping.
