An above-average amount of rehearsals are still scheduled for SPIDER-MAN: Turn Off the Dark as under 30 days remain until the show's currently scheduling opening night of February 7, 2011. Christopher Tierney was back at SPIDER-MAN evening, as an audience member. He told the press before the show that he believed in the production, and the crew, wasn't mad at anyone and was hoping to rejoin the show as soon as he possibly could. Before entering the theatre, he spoke to press and showed off his back brace.
Word has hit Twitter that tonight's performance of SPIDER-MAN was stopped at least twice. These malfuctions would be the latest in a long line of problems for the new musical, which began previews on Nov 28, 2010.
ROCK OF AGES star Constantine Maroulis has gone on the record about SPIDER-MAN, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Maroulis says, 'It was the most poetic, provocative and beautiful piece of theater I've seen in a long f---ing time. I realize theater is not a contact sport but they're in a fight, making art, creating something that's bigger than anything.'
SPIDER-MAN has yet another obstacle to overcome. According to Newsday, Bill de Blasio, public advocate of New York City, is campaigning for the Department of Consumer Affairs to make audience members aware that the very delayed show is in deed still not a finished product. De Blasio claims that the musical 'may be in violation of consumer protection laws,' because the show makes no mention that it is still in previews.
Andrew Garfield, who will star in the upcoming 'Spider-Man' film - the fourth in the series - has admitted that he can certainly relate to his future onscreen role. The actor told the Daily Mail that he and 'Peter Parker' (the secret identity of the web-slinging hero) share a common experience; they were both bullied in school.
While some have criticized Bono for not being around for SPIDER-MAN's early previews, due to previous touring commitments in New Zealand, he is now back in town and fully involved with the production that features his music and lyrics.

According to the NY Times, now that SPIDER-MAN's Christopher Tierney is on the mends, the 31 year old has made it clear that he can't wait to get back to the Foxwoods Theatre.
