This summer, Brian Charles Rooney will star as Miss Blanche, in the Premiere of the solo musical, Miss Blanche Tells It All by Jason Jacobs & Matthew C. Pritchard. Directed by Gisela Cardenas, with musical direction by Robert Frost and choreography by Nicole Curcio, it will begin performances as part of this year New York Musical Festival (NYMF) beginning July 12 at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Playwrights Horizons (416 W 42nd St).

Written in verse by Gisela Cardenas and delivered as spoken poetry by a cast of three, I2Decode explores the intertwining of live music, video mapping and words. Ryan Justesen (Playwrights Horizons/NYU) will direct the inaugural production under the artistic direction of InTandem Lab.

A signature feature of the National Theater Institute, weekly Theater Labs challenge students to put all the skills gained in classes into practice. The Greeks descend on modern day California in eSe Teatro's first full mainstage production, Luis Alfaro's Oedipus, El Rey, reacquainting audiences with the iconic tragedy through the lens of Chicano culture and ancient Mexican ritual. Set within the California prison system, the largest incarcerated population in the world, Oedipus, El Rey shows us gang hierarchy as it collides with fate. The play examines free will and whether the 'curse'of violence plaguing generations can be appeased without an ultimate sacrifice to the gods. Propheciesof the barrio rule the lives of its people, crushing families with the iron hand of 'el destino'(destiny). Has the path already been determined? How much is really up to us?

The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) has just announced that the 30(th) Anniversary Princess Grace Awards Gala will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Cipriani 42(nd) Street in New York City. The Awards ceremony will include the presentation of 25 awards to emerging artists in theater, dance and film as well as Princess Grace Statue Awards to be presented to Patrick Page and Darron L West. A special honor will be presented to one of the founding Trustees, Lynn Wyatt, for her dedicated service and help in establishing the Foundation in 1982. The 30(th) Anniversary Princess Grace Awards Gala will take place in the presence of TSH The Prince and The Princess of Monaco. Legendary newswoman Paula Zahn will act as Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening. The evening will be chaired by Renee Fleming and Tim Jessell and H.R.H. Princess Firyal of Jordan. Presenting Sponsor for the Gala is Hermes; Crown Sponsor is Lily Safra.
