Geva Theatre Center's Mark Cuddy Named New Producer of Cape Playhouse

Richard B. Hawes, Jr., President of the Board of Trustees of the Cape Playhouse and Cape Cod Center for the Arts, today announced that veteran theatre leader, Mark Cuddy, will assume the newly-created position of Playhouse Producer and Chief Executive of the Cape Cod Center for the Arts. Mr. Cuddy has been the Artistic Director of the largest producing theatre in New York State outside of Manhattan, Rochester's Geva Theatre Center, for the past eighteen years. He will continue in that position as he begins with the Playhouse immediately. Mr. Cuddy has led theatres across the country for over thirty-three years, and serves on the Board of Directors of Theatre Communications Group, the nation's service organization for the advancement of professional, not-for-profit theatres.

Hyde Park School of Dance to Close 20th Season with THE NUTCRACKER, 12/14-15

Hyde Park School of Dance (HPSD) concludes its 20th anniversary season with Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, featuring a record 170 dancers-from four-year-olds to grandparents-supported by more than 100 volunteers. Out of the welter of human misery, vice and foolishness there emerges the moving case of a decent young man who has stolen money from his employer; a hardened criminal dragging his young friend down with him; a lawless NJ 'gardener' with a corrupt lawyer; and others. In the throes of the tumult is Detective McLeod -- a man whose black & white vision of justice will be challenged by the woman he loves most: his wife. A cast of 22 men and women will bring this drama of truth and consequences to life on the stage November 8-17, 2013.

Following a successful premiere earlier this year, award-winning theatre company Pickled Image are delighted to be at SUSPENSE Festival to present The Shop of Little Horrors, a dark, twisted tale that combines the companies' trademark macabre puppets, and weird and wonderful masks with rich storytelling and black comedy. The Shop of Little Horrors will run today 26 & Sunday 27 October, 4.30pm & 8.30pm and Monday 28 October, 8.30pm at the Pleasance Theatre.
