Hyde Park School of Dance (HPSD) once again offers ballet fans its annual presentation of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, featuring 175 dancers—from four-year-olds to grandparents—supported by more than 100 volunteers. Performances are December 11–13 at Mandel Hall on the University of Chicago campus, 1131 E. 57th Street, Chicago.

An all new production of a popular musical for young audiences that focuses on the importance of differences will be part of Northwestern University's fall theater season.

Ask musical actors/actresses for their choice of favorite Broadway musical of all time and they most often concur, West Side Story. Why? It has phenomenal music by Leonard Bernstein, with concise poetic lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a tight and gripping book by Arthur Laurents, and brilliant choreography established in 1957 by Jerome Robbins. It is one of the most powerful love stories ever, next to Romeo and Juliet. With all these elements complementing one another, from the first downbeat of the orchestra and the appearance of the Jets creeping in one by one on a half-lit stage, the show pulls you in and doesn't let go of you for its two and a half hours ... and its message and images of love linger long after.

A few big things happened in tonight's episode, and most of them had nothing to do with Milus Corbett. What. A. Bummer. But we're gonna talk about him anyway. I am so sorry for anyone who reads my recaps and doesn't like Milus. I'd like to actually take this moment to publically apologize to you. But he's my fav. How can you not crack up at just about everything he says? Cozying up to Lady Love like, 'soooo... you're going to marry Pryce now, riiiiight?' And hey! We found the guy who killed Lady Trula! Things are looking up! TIME FOR A WEDDING! CAN I BE YOUR MAID OF HONOR, OR IS THAT WEIRD?! Okay, Corbie, simmer down. Lady Love brushes off the wedding plans for now, and asks to see the rebel who has confessed to Lady Trula's murder. Milus acquiesces, even though he doesn't know what else the guy could possibly tell the baroness. Such a sly guy, he's out of control.
