The Arizona Broadway Theatre has announced its upcoming 2012-2013 season. The season includes OKLAHOMA!, ANNIE, HELLO DOLLY, BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, 9 TO 5, INTO THE WOODS, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, and THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL.

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre presents the final show of its 2011/12 season Hello, Dolly! through April 1, directed by Tony®-nominated director and choreographer Marcia Milgrom Dodge and starring Broadway veteran Vicki Lewis and Tony® winner Gary Beach. Composer and lyricist Jerry Herman was in the audience at last night's show. Happy Birthday Carol Channing! She is the recipient of three Tony Awards (including one for lifetime achievement), a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination. Channing is best remembered for originating, on Broadway, the musical-comedy roles of bombshell Lorelei Lee in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and matchmaking widow Dolly Gallagher Levi in Hello, Dolly! She also appeared in two New York revivals of Hello, Dolly!, and toured with it extensively throughout the United States. Channing also appeared in a number of movies, The First Traveling Sales Lady (1956) with Ginger Rogers, the cult film Skidoo and Thoroughly Modern Millie, opposite Julie Andrews and Mary Tyler Moore.

Eppler's obvious affection for the genre is apparent from the play's very first moments-Caldwell gives a high-spirited reading of his role, delivering Eppler's tongue-twisting dialogue with high caliber self-assurance, while Gore makes the first of his hilarious appearances in the play-and he once again displays his deft hand at creating believable dialogue that's sharply witty and wondrously clever. The ease with which his characters rattle off the repartee he has written is largely because of his gift of gab, but it also points to the sure-handed direction of the piece by Martha Wilkinson (no stranger herself to the wonderful words cobbled together by Eppler), and the performances of the five-member cast who give life to the scriptbound characters.

Bob Gunton, the musical theater star who was Tony Award-nominated for his turn as Broadway's original Juan Peron in Evita, returns to his Tennessee theatrical roots next May in one of the highlights of the 2012 season at Cumberland County Playhouse which is announced today. Gunton stars in Walking On Water, "an evening of musical theater and song," opening May 18 at the Crossville theater where he debuted in 1965 in Tennessee, USA!, Paul Crabtree's musical homage to his home state.
