SKETCHES FROM THE NATIONAL LAMPOON World Premiere to Play Hayworth Theatre, 2/7-3/17

National Lampoon will present the World Premiere of SKETCHES FROM THE NATIONAL LAMPOON, conceived and produced by Matty Simmons, with original songs by Richard Levinson and directed by Pat Towne. SKETCHES FROM THE NATIONAL LAMPOON will begin previews on Thursday, February 7 at 8pm; will open on Friday, February 15 at 8pm and run through Sunday, March 17 at the Hayworth Theatre, 2511 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles.

13th Annual North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival Announces Sketch Block; Features Second City and RISK! from MTV's The State Alumn Kevin Allison

The 2013 North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival continues with a weekend of top notch sketch comedy. The sketch portion of the festival runs Thursday, February 7-Sunday, February 10. The sketch line-up features acts from all over the country and is highlighted by an appearance from the Second City Touring Company and an evening with Kevin Allison's RISK!, a live storytelling event. Tickets to festival shows range $10 - $37 and are available online at www.nccomedyarts.com. Sketch comedy shows will take place at DSI Comedy Theater, 200 N Greensboro St. and at the Arts Center 300-G East Main St. in Carrboro. Second City will take the stage at the Carolina Theatre, 309 W. Morgan Street, in Durham.

North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival Announces Line-Up Change - Steven Wright & More

Last year, the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival began a partnership with the Carolina Theatre in Durham and partnered with the theatre to present two shows during last year's festival. Both shows were wildly successful and this year should prove to be no exception. Two of the festival's headliners are slated to take center stage at the Carolina Theatre on February 8 and February 10.

In the wake of recent news regarding the decision of several Gilda's Club affiliate members' to change the name of their club due to a "lack of recognition" of Gilda Radner, The Second City is pleased to present "Celebrating Gilda," a panel on the enduring legacy and impact of Gilda Radner's life and career today, December 6, 2012 from 5:00-6:00pm in UP Comedy Club (230 W. North Ave, 3rd Floor of Piper's Alley).

The Second City scoured their address book to assemble a cast of seven luminary L.A.-based alumni for their hilarious take on the beloved Charles Dickens tale of hope and redemption. The world premiere of The Second City's "A Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens!" is written by Second City alums, Peter Gwinn (formerly of "The Colbert Report") and Bobby Mort (currently of "The Colbert Report"), and opens tonight, November 29, 2012, at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre. Previews began November 24 and performances will run through December 30.

There is a casting change in The Second City's "A Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens!" presented at the Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre. Ron West will join the cast to play the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. Joe Flaherty was originally announced in that role but needed to leave the production for personal reasons. The twisted telling of Charles Dickens' holiday classic will open November 29 and continue through December 30, 2012. Previews begin tonight, November 24.

On Saturday November 17th Torontonians came out to support Gilda's Club of Greater Toronto at the eleventh annual It's Always Something variety show and fundraiser. The event was once again hosted by Russell Peters and featured performances by Eric McCormack, Nelly Furtado, Glass Tiger, Louise Pitre and more. All proceeds went to support Gilda's Club, which provides an invaluable support system and resource for people's who's lives have been touched by cancer.
