The 2017 Tony Award Nominations were announced  this morning, and while a select, talented few will spend the day celebrating their achievements, there are many who fell just short of a nod.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has been meeting all year to discuss the eligibility of the 2016-17 Broadway productions all leading up to Tuesdays big announcement... the Tony nominations.

The brand new musical Bandstand, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton) with music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics byRobert Taylor and Richard Oberacker, opened last at The Bernard B. John Guare's Six Degrees of Separation, starring seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney ('Mom,' The Girl on the Train), Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart, 'Manhattan') and Corey Hawkins(Straight Outta Compton, '24: Legacy'), directed by Trip Cullman(Significant Other, Yen), officially opened last night, April 25, at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). Today, Broadway says goodbye to two productions that brought new forms of art to the theatre scene: Sunday in the Park with George, and Significant Other.

On Monday, May 8, Roundabout Theatre Company will host their third annual Casino Night, at the American Airlines Theatre (227 W. 42nd St). All proceeds benefit Roundabout Theatre Company's many programs, including the Education programs, the Theatrical Workforce Development Program and the Musical Theatre Fund.

Producers of Broadway's critically acclaimed, SIGNIFICANT OTHER, announces that it will play its final performance on Sunday, April 23rd at 7 PM.   SIGNIFICANT OTHER, currently playing at The Booth Theatre (222 West 45th St.), officially opened Thursday, March 2nd, and at the time of closing will have played a total of 79 performances.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee met today for the third time this season and confirmed the eligibility of six Broadway productions for the 2017 American Theatre Wing's Tony Awards®, presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The Tony Awards Administration Committee will meet a total of four times throughout the 2016-2017 season to decide the eligibility for the 71st Annual Tony Awards.

Just last night, the Point Honors gala recognized individuals who have demonstrated leadership and courage and stand as role models for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer young people.

Significant Other, the new American play by Joshua Harmon is calling for submissions to help a lucky bachelor or bachelorette find their own Significant Other.

The annual Gala Fundraiser will take place on Monday, March 13, 2017, beginning at 6:30pm, at Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue).
