If the January blues are getting you down, I can suggest no better cure than to do-si-do on down to the Bristol Hippodrome this week for a thigh-slapping evening of musical mayhem with Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. A show packed full of raucous dance numbers, rugged sets (and men!) and downright rollocking entertainment, this old-fashioned musical is sure to bring even the grumpiest of bears out of hibernation.

American Ballet Theatre's 2014 season at the Metropolitan Opera House was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie. The season will be highlighted by the Company Premiere of Frederick Ashton's Cinderella, and a Shakespeare Celebration to include Ashton's The Dream and Alexei Ratmansky's The Tempest. Season revivals include Leonide Massine's Gaîté Parisienne and Kenneth MacMillan's Manon.

American Ballet Theatre will dedicate its performances at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., January 26-31, 2010, to the memory of Ballet Mistress Georgina Parkinson, who passed away in December. A beloved friend and colleague, Ms. Parkinson held the title of Ballet Mistress with ABT for more than 30 years.
