The Tony Award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe opens its 52nd season with 2012 - THE MUSICAL! Wilma Bonet (Posibilidad, Too Big To Fail) directs Lizzie Calogero (Red State, Too Big To Fail), Keiko Shimosato Carreiro (GodFellas, Doing Good, Veronique of the Mounties), Michael Gene Sullivan (Posibilidad, Too Big to Fail, GodFellas), and Victor Toman (Making A Killing, GodFellas, 1600 Transylvania Ave), along with Cory Censoprano and Siobhan Marie Doherty, who make their San Francisco Mime Troupe debuts in this lively satire about corporate funding and the art of mass distraction.

Roundabout Theatre Company announced the full company of the new musical Death Takes A Holiday, with a book by Peter Stone & Thomas Meehan, music & lyrics by Maury Yeston, directed by Doug Hughes. While Elton John Night this week on AMERICAN IDOL may have ran hot-and-cold, a look back at even Sir Elton's most recent successes, such as last year's Leon Russell collaboration THE UNION - who guests with John on SNL as a special musical guest tonight - and his enchanting Broadway hits THE LION KING, BILLY ELLIOT and AIDA - the former two recipients of Best Musical and the latter Best Score, respectively - show he is not stopping anytime soon (ANIMAL FARM: The Musical, based on the novel by George Orwell, is coming to a West End stage later this year!). The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) hosted its 19th Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre on Monday, November 22, 2010, honoring Tony Award-winning librettist Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray, Elf). The evening was directed by Tony-winning director/lyricist/librettist Richard Maltby and the award was presented by Alice Hammerstein Mathias, daughter of Oscar Hammerstein II.
