As Earth Day this year approaches, C.S. Goldsmith speaks of the current state the world is in in regards to climate change. Addressed in his book, "Uninhabitable: A Case for Caution,"is a warning to the current generation and for future generations to start paying more attention to what is occurring in regards to global warming and climate change.

Thanks to new technologies, artists can now make 3D films and play them like melodic, texture-based visual instruments in real time, performing in duets with acoustic musicians. A new genre of collaborative performance is in the making, as demonstrated in 'Minimus 3D Arkestra,' a visual-sonic concert by Ikuo Nakamura (film) and Hayes Greenfield (sax/voice/effects rig). This pioneering fusion of disciplines will be revealed in a five-week run, today, June 30 to July 30, at the intimate 13th Street Repertory Theatre, 50 West 13th Street.

The Napa Valley Opera House is a non-profit performing arts organization located in the heart of downtown Napa and is a national historic landmark originally constructed in 1879. NVOH restored its intimate second-floor, 500-seat Margrit Biever Mondavi Theatre in 2002 after 30 years of planning.
