At the top of the second act of The Language Archive, a skilled linguist named George (Trevor Bissell) gives the audience a lesson in Esperanto, a universal language created in the late 1800s. VIDEO: Pinta Island Tortoise Lonesome George Arrives at AMNH in NYC

Lonesome George, the 100-year-old (estimated) Pinta Island tortoise (Chelonoidis abingdoni)-the last of his kind-who died in June 2012, will be preserved for posterity by the same expert taxidermy and conservation team that worked on the acclaimed renovation of the Jill and Lewis Bernard Family Hall of North American Mammals at the American Museum of Natural History. The world-famous giant tortoise, who continues to be an icon for conservation in Ecuador's Galapagos Islands, will be on display at the Museum for a limited time starting this winter. Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Announce 12-Day Netherlands Tour

Benjamin Zander and the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra are immensely proud to announce a tour by the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (BPYO) to The Netherlands. This trip is the culmination of an extraordinary founding year for the BPYO, and caps the successes the orchestra has had in Boston: two sold-out critically acclaimed performances at Symphony Hall and one at Sanders Theatre in Cambridge. The orchestra, comprising students aged 13 to 21, was founded with the intention of 'Shaping future leaders through music.' Boston can be proud that this week, in The Netherlands, these 116 students are cultural ambassadors for the USA.. The tour consists of: five performances at the highest level in the best concert halls in The Netherlands; a live national radio broadcast; working sessions, performances and social time with musicians from student orchestras ; a flash mob in the Amsterdam Metro system; and time for sight-seeing.

Curious George: Let's Get Curious! Opens 5/25 at Minnesota Children's Museum

The insatiable curiosity of Curious George - the little monkey who has captured the imagination and hearts of millions of children and grown-ups for 65 years - comes to life May 25 to September 8 at Crown Center. The complimentary exhibit, Curious George: Let's Get Curious! will introduce young children to Curious George's world and lead visitors on a fun, meaningful interactive math, science and engineering-based adventure. The exhibit will be open in the Crown Center Shops Showplace, located on Level 1 of the Crown Center Shops at 2450 Grand Boulevard.

Dr. Nemec will deliver a related lecture on January 26th, at the Institute. A book signing follows the lecture - both are open to the public.
