After a sixteen-year absence from the Adelaide theatre scene, Stephen Sondheim's musical about relationships, Company, is getting an airing.

Writers Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma announce the Inaugural Season in the company's new theatre center, to include a season kick-off at Books on Vernon with Marjorie Prime by Jordan Harrison, directed by Kimberly Senior, followed by the Grand Opening of the state-of-the-art facility, designed by Jeanne Gang and Studio Gang Architects. Arcadia by Tom Stoppard, directed by Artistic Director Michael Halberstam will be the inaugural production in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre. A new collaboration with Chicago's The Second City entitled Death of a Streetcar Named Virginia Woolf-A Parody, by Tim Sniffen, with additional material by Tim Ryder, directed by Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Stuart Carden, will open the Gillian Theatre. Company, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth, directed by William Brown with musical direction by Tom Vendafreddo, will follow Arcadia in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre.

Adelaide's musical answer to The Bachelor or Sex and the City is heading to the Stirling Community Theatre in November for the first time in 16 years.

The Bergen County Players presents 'Getting Away With Murder' - a comedy thriller written by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth. Under the direction of Ellyn Essig, 'Getting Away With Murder' will be performed at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell from Saturday, October 24th through Saturday, November 14th. The curtain for Friday and Saturday performances will rise at 8 pm with Sunday matinees at 2 pm. A well-advised investment in real talent to professionally execute a boutique production is what made Watch This' Company an enjoyable experience. George Furth's book allows so much room for interpretation around Sondheim's tunes, that it would be all too easy to steep the content in self-indulgent intelligentsia or leave it dry and deadpan, but Kat Henry's direction makes marvellous entertainment to draw out fresh humour and intrigue from a story we've all heard before and is probably too close to home to begin with.

One of the most beloved and ground-breaking works in the Sondheim cannon, Watch This will present along awaited season of Company at fortyfivedownstairs. Company is a musical comedy, which explores love, relationships and the struggle for intimacy - the original production was nominated for a record-setting 14 Tony Awards and won six.

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present further staged readings for the New York premiere of I AM, I WILL, I DO, a new musical with book, music and lyrics by Dan Manjovi.

San Francisco Playhouse will complete its twelfth season with Stephen Sondheim's trailblazing musical comedy, Company, directed by Susi Damilano. The play will feature a cast of local favorites, with Keith Pinto (Into the Woods) starring as Robert, along with Teresa Attridge, Velina Brown*, Morgan Dayley, Michelle Drexler, Ryan Drummond*, Richard Frederick*, John Paul Gonzalez, Monique Hafen*, Stephanie Prentice*, Chris Reber*, Abby Sammons, Nicole Weber and Michael Scott Wells.

The landmark Supreme Court ruling handed down late last week instating national legalization of marriage rights for all individuals is a cause celebre for the country at large, particularly the Broadway community who has vocally and vociferously fought for equal acceptance for all for decades. Given the preponderance of LGBT people in the theatre community itself, this victory is a particular joy for many to celebrate. As a result of this momentous event, now is the ideal time to take a look back at the most important and notable musicals that have appeared on Broadway in the last several decades to shine a light on the gay community, ranging from portrayals of closeted individuals trapped and unable to find acceptance in a conservative society all the way to the out and proud representations available to see in some currently running smash hits. Additionally, who could forget all of musicals that have touched upon LGBT issues over the years - from the campy to the controversial to the highly acclaimed.

SUICIDE NOTES: In Their Own Words is a gripping one hour play that uses real suicide notes and performed by four actors in the vein of The Vagina Monologues and Love Letters. Stan Zimmerman, a TV and film veteran and award winning theatre writer/director, returns to Hollywood Fringe Festival for his three straight year. But this time, he departs from his usual comedy ventures to create this unique theatrical piece after loosing a close friend to suicide three years ago.
