Join the tens of thousands who have become transfixed by the story of Juan Diego, a simple peasant to whom the Virgin Mary appeared on four occasions in the mountains of Tepeyac near Mexico City in 1531. Adapted for the stage from the mid-16th century text The Nican Mopohua by LTC resident playwright Evelina Fern ndez and performed in Spanish with English subtitles, this site-specific epic event is produced by the Latino Theater Company at downtown's Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.

A work in progress by the writer of the Ovation Award-winning hit, The Recommendation (with IAMA Theatre Company), Mr. Caren's new play is about a young liberal couple that hires a Latino immigrant to help improve their property and what follows after will not only test the couples' morality, but also the very foundation on which their relationship is built.

Rivas said, "Due to critical acclaim and popular demand The Latina Christmas Special will be extended for one week, January 7, 8, 9 and 10, 2016 in observance the Feast of Three Kings or The Epiphany. Our three queens, Diana Yanez, Sandra Valls and Maria Russell will be back at the beginning of the new year to continue bringing holiday joy to audiences two weeks after the conclusion of our original five-run, which ends this Sunday, December 20, 2015."

Karen Zacarias' new telenovela-inspired comedy Destiny of Desire receives its world premiere at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, kicking off the company's 66th season with dramatic storytelling and comic flair. Zacarias, an inaugural resident playwright of the theater's American Voices New Play Institute whose previous credits include The Book Club Play and Legacy of Light, collaborates with renowned director Jose Luis Valenzuela, Artistic Director of the Latino Theater Company, to bring the Latin-American telenovela genre to life on stage. Destiny of Desire runs September 11-October 18, 2015 in the Kreeger Theater.
The William & Eva Fox Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, have announced the eighth round of Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowship recipients. The program is designed to support actors' professional and artistic development, to enrich relationships between actors and nonprofit theatres and to ensure continued professional commitment to live theatre. Funded by the Fox Foundation and administered by TCG, the fellowship is one of only a few programs of its kind for actors in the country.
'Faith: Part One of a Mexican Trilogy,' a World Premiere engagement of a new play by Evelina Fernandez, will be directed by Jose Luis Valenzuela and presented by The Latino Theater Company at the Los Angeles Theatre Center (in Theatre 3, 514 S.
