The Kingsmen Shakespeare Company will kick off its 22nd year with its first staging of 'The Two Noble Kinsmen' under the direction of a newcomer to the festival who has nearly 40 years of experience.
City Lit Theater will present THE ART OF ADAPTATION, its eleventh juried festival of world premiere adaptations of non-dramatic material, on June 22, 23 and 24, 2018 at its home at 1020 West Bryn Mawr Avenue. Six adaptations were selected following a nationwide call for submissions, and each was awarded a $200.00 prize. A jury of local theater professionals will select a best in show piece and award an additional $300 cash prize to its adapter.
Nationally acclaimed puppeteers Valerie and Michael Nelson of the Little Blue Moon Theatre, based in Vallejuo, CA, return to Pontine Theatre's stage with their original stage adaptation of The Miller's Tale drawn from Geoffrey Chaucer's renowned 14th century masterpiece, The Canterbury Tales. This production is underwritten by arts patron, Gillian Aguilar. Performances are Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 4pm and Sunday at 2pm, at Pontine's West End Studio Theatre located at 959 Islington St in Portsmouth NH.
