Brooke Wetterhahn Joins Premiere of NAKED CALL Tonight

Brooke Wetterhahn joins the cast of NAKED CALLand will now be performing as "Jennifer".  Naked Call, a brand-new play by award-winning playwright, Ken Kaissaris premiering as a professionally staged reading, produced by New Feathers Productions as announced earlier this month. 

Alex Newell & More Will Take Part In FAR FROM CANTERBURY Reading

An industry reading of Far From Canterbury will be held on Thursday, October 18th at 3 PM and Friday, October 19th at 11 AM in New York City. Far From Canterbury is a new musical with Book, Music, and Lyrics by Danny K Bernstein.

THE ART OF ADAPTATION Festival Returns June 22-24

City Lit Theater will present THE ART OF ADAPTATION, its eleventh juried festival of world premiere adaptations of non-dramatic material, on June 22, 23 and 24, 2018 at its home at 1020 West Bryn Mawr Avenue. Six adaptations were selected following a nationwide call for submissions, and each was awarded a $200.00 prize. A jury of local theater professionals will select a best in show piece and award an additional $300 cash prize to its adapter.

Pontine to Present THE MILLER'S TALE, 6/24-26

Nationally acclaimed puppeteers Valerie and Michael Nelson of the Little Blue Moon Theatre, based in  Vallejuo, CA, return to Pontine Theatre's stage with their original stage adaptation of The Miller's Tale drawn from Geoffrey Chaucer's renowned 14th century masterpiece, The Canterbury Tales.   This production is underwritten by arts patron, Gillian Aguilar.  Performances are Friday at 7:30pm, Saturday at 4pm and Sunday at 2pm, at Pontine's West End Studio Theatre located at 959 Islington St in Portsmouth NH.  The hour-long, one-act show is designed for audience members eighteen and older.   Advance tickets are $24. and may be purchased online at www.pontine.org.  Tickets may also be purchased at the door a half-hour prior to each show, based on availability.   Contact Pontine: info@pontine.org / 603-436-6660

Half medieval, half community TV talent quest, this new interpretation of THE CANTERBURY TALES is a bold and exciting take on Geoffrey Chaucer's comedic masterpiece and will premiere at the NEW THEATRE, Newtown from Wednesday 15 July to Saturday 1 August.

Barbara Rosenblat to Perform THE SEARCH FOR SIGNS OF INTELLIGENT LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE at Chain Theatre

The brilliant actress BARBARA ROSENBLAT (Miss Rosa in Orange Is the New Black) stars in the poignant, sharp, and laugh-out-loud funny play by Jane Wagner, THE SEARCH FOR SIGNS OF INTELLIGENT LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE. This one-night-only staged reading will be held on Saturday, December 13th at 8pm, to benefit the Chain Theatre (21-28 45 Road, Long Island City, 646-580-6003) .

Bare Theatre concludes its bombastic ninth season with Two Noble Kinsmen: Fire & Shadows, a theatre/circus spectacle with food trucks in the beautiful outdoor setting beside the Raleigh Rose Garden. Following the critical and popular success of last summer's The Comedy of Errors, the company again teams up with Raleigh circus school Cirque de Vol Studios for a night of stunning drama, thrilling circus acts, pyrotechnics and shadow play. Met Museum Opens RADIANT LIGHT: STAINED GLASS FROM CANTERBURY CATHEDRAL Today

A splendid array of six near-life-size enthroned figures in stained glass from England's historic Canterbury Cathedral will be shown in the exhibition Radiant Light: Stained Glass from Canterbury Cathedral, opening today, February 25 at The Cloisters-a branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art devoted to the art and architecture of the Middle Ages.

Apple Core Theater Debuts A MODEST SUGGESTION at NYC's Studio Theatre, Now thru 5/27

APPLE CORE THEATER COMPANY (ACTC) presents its world premiere production of a new satire by Israeli-American playwright, Ken Kaissar: A MODEST SUGGESTION. Directed by Walter J. Hoffman, A MODEST SUGGESTION plays a limited engagement at the Studio Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th/10th). Performances begin tonight, May 10 and continue through Sunday, May 27. Opening Night is Tuesday, May 15 (7 p.m.).
