Members of the CW's RIVERDALE cast visited Broadways' BANDSTAND last night and BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the moment. In attendance were stars Casey Cott, KJ Apa, Marisol Nichols, Lili Reinhart, Madelaine Petsch and Camila Mendes.
Monday night in NYC, at Le Poisson Rouge, Broadway Bound Kids scored an impressive success with their second Broadway Bee competition; hosted by Rebecca Feldman and Jay Reiss, creators of The 25th Annual Putnam Country Spelling Bee. Check out photos from the event below!
The theatre world is abuzz about the Second Annual BROADWAY BEE on Monday, May 8th (at Le Poisson rouge in NYC). The fundraiser pits some of Broadway's brightest against each other in a high-spirited spelling bee, with eleven teams vying for the trophy.
In Broadway by Design, BroadwayWorld is shining a spotlight on the stellar designs of this Broadway season, show by show. Today, we continue the series with David Korins, and Paloma Young, who acted as scenic and costume designers for Broadway's syncopated sensation, Bandstand.
As they sit in darkness, the first thing the audience hears is the sound of distant explosions. They come with an erratic frequency, edging frighteningly closer with each blast. But gradually, the sound becomes more rhythmic, adapting a fierce pulse until what we're hearing is a drum set beating out a swing tempo.
Welcome home, Bandstand! Just last night, a brand new musical took its place on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Broadway Bound Kids, a NYC performing arts education organization, will host its second annual BROADWAY BEE fundraiser on Monday, May 8, at 7pm at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street, NYC). The Broadway Bee is an adults only spelling bee, featuring actors from current hit Broadway Shows. All proceeds go to provide performing arts opportunities for NYC youth.
