The Broadway community mourns the loss of producer, talent agent, and stage manager Samuel 'Biff' Liff, who passed away on Monday night at age 96. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in his memory tonight, August 14th at exactly 7:45pm for one minute.

Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-GNY) have launched OPERATION BACKPACK 2015, its annual drive to collect new backpacks filled with brand new, grade-specific school supplies for thousands of children living in New York City's homeless and domestic violence shelters. Broadway actress Paige Davis has been the spokesperson for OPERATION BACKPACK for the past ten years. This year, with family homelessness at an all-time high, the organization's goal is to outfit 20,000 New York City children with backpacks in time for the first day of the school year. Based on the Broadway musical thriller written by Frank Wildhorn and Leslie Bricusse, Jekyll & Hyde Resurrection is a live concert featuring the music and songs from the 2006 album starring Rob Evan and Kate Shindle, and produced byFrank Wildhorn and Jeremy Roberts. The album inspired a full symphonic version of the musical that toured the US and South Korea directed by Producer/Director Vincent Marini. This musical retelling of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic takes a modern, dark and Rock influenced approach with the three stars and a full rock band delivering the highly charged and melodic score. Comedy in many varieties will be the common refrain of the 8th annual Origin's 1st Irish Festival running from September 2 to October 4. In all seven mainstage productions seen in competition (4 US premieres, 3 world premieres), plus seven special events out-of-competition will make up the five-week, month-long festival.
