Now in its ninth year, the Yale Drama Series Prize is given out annually for a play by an emerging playwright, selected by a judging panel of one - a preeminent playwright of our time.  The winner receives the David Charles Horn Prize of $10,000, as well as publication of the winning play by Yale University Press and a staged reading at Lincoln Center Theater's Claire Tow Theater.  The Yale Drama Series is an annual international open submission competition for emerging playwrights who are invited to submit original, unpublished, full-length, English language plays for consideration.  Seyda's play was selected from 1,478 entries from 47 countries.

The end result is a collection of hits originally made famous by iconic male artists, re-imagined and sung from a woman's point of view. It's A Man's World gives Calvert a vehicle to soar, and soar she does.

Mercury Theatre, Colchester, Brian Eastman and Christabel Albery present a new musical comedy based on the StudioCanal Peter Sellers/Margaret Rutherford film The Smallest Show on Earth.  The stage show, which has a book by Thom Southerland and Paul Alexander, contains some of Irving Berlin's greatest songs, including Blue Skies, Shakin' the Blues Away, Let Yourself Go, Steppin' Out with my Baby and How Deep is the Ocean, as well as some rediscovered gems.

Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro's critically acclaimed new comedy Clever Little Lies begins previews on Friday, September 18th for a strictly limited 16-week engagement. Opening night, originally announced for Wednesday, October 14th, is now set for Monday, October 12th at the Westside Theatre (Upstairs) (407 West 43rd Street). As previously announced, Clever Little Lies stars Emmy, Grammy, and Golden Globe Award-winner Marlo Thomas, Greg Mullavey, George Merrick and Kate Wetherhead, with direction by David Saint.

Signature Theatre just announced one additional, final performance for their critically acclaimed production of JOHN, written by Pulitzer Prize winner Annie Baker (The Flick) and directed by Tony Award-winner Sam Gold (Fun Home). The production, which kicked off Signature's 25th Anniversary Season, will now play its final performance on Sunday, September 6th at 7:30pm. All other performances are sold out.

In celebration of their 20th Anniversary Season, the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center brings back the classic musical Fiddler on the Roof from September 12 - October 18, 2015. With performances on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm and Sundays at 2 pm as well as Thursdays at 8 pm on October 8 and 15, Fiddler on the Roof will make a third run at the Cultural Arts Center, having previously played in May of 2004 and September of 2006.
