Lesser America (The Bachelors, Carnival Kids, Trevor) will present HALF MOON BAY by Dan Moyer. It will be directed by Jess Chayes (AD of Peter and The Starcatcher) starring Keilly McQuail (You Got Older, Her Requiem) and Gabriel King (These Seven Sicknesses). Previews begin May 12 at Cherry Lane Theatre, where Lesser America is the inaugural Company in Residence. Opening set for Thursday, May 19.

Just last night, MCC Theater's Miscast gala, an annual highlight of the New York theater season, honored Oscar winning star of stage & screen and MCC alum Marisa Tomei. The gala featured show-stopping performances by Emmy Award nominee Tituss Burgess; Tony Award winners Lea Salonga and Linda Lavin; Tony Award nominee Keala Settle; and stage and screen stars Aaron Tveit, Beth Behrs, Cynthia Erivo, Ana Villafañe, and Shanice Williams. On Monday, April 4th, the Theater People podcast welcomes Emmy nominated choreographer Spencer Liff. As a performer, Liff made his Broadway debut at age 11 in the musical BIG. He went on to appear in THE WEDDING SINGER, CRY BABY, EQUUS, and  9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL, taking on more and more responsibility along the way. He was the Associate Choreographer and Dance Captain for CRY BABY, and was the Dance Captain on EQUUS. 

On Monday, March 28th, the Theater People podcast welcome's Broadway favorite and Fiddler on the Roof's Motel, Adam Kantor. The actor made his Broadway debut in 2008 as Mark in the closing cast of the Tony winning musical RENT directed by Michael Greif. The director, a mentor to Kantor, went on to cast him as a replacement in the role of Henry in the hit Broadway musical NEXT TO NORMAL.

Tony Award nominee and Theatre World Award winner Geneva Carr and Drama Desk Award nominee Morgan Spector will join DAREDEVIL star Charlie Cox and Heather Lind in Nick Payne's new play INCOGNITO at Manhattan Theatre Club, it was announced today. Tony winner Doug Hughes (THE FATHER, DOUBT, OUTSIDE MULLINGAR) will take the helm.

When it debuted, THE EFFECT took London by storm, winning Best New Play from the UK Critics' Circle. Now, award-winning director David Cromer (Our Town, Tribes) helms a new American production of this exhilarating play in the first collaboration between The National Theatre, Jean Doumanian Productions, and Barrow Street Theatre. This production marks the off-Broadway producing debut for The National Theatre when it premiered on Sunday, March 20th 2016. 

On Monday, March 14 the Theater People podcast welcomes HAMILTON star Phillipa Soo. Soo mader her New York stage debut in the title role of Natasha in the critically acclaimed 2013 Off-Broadway production of NATASHA, PIERRE, & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812.

Broadway's new musical comedy DISASTER!, directed by Jack Plotnick with a book by three-time Emmy Award nominee and Grammy Award nominee Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick, officially opened last night, March 8, 2016, for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 3, 2016. On Monday, February 22, the Theater People podcast welcomes Broadway favorite Sierra Boggess, currently starring the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical SCHOOL OF ROCK. Boggess made her Broadway debut in 2008 in the title role of the Disney musical THE LITTLE MERMAID. She went on to star in the Broadway revival of MASTER CLASS, opposite Tyne Daily, before heading to London's West End to originate the role of Christine Daae in Andrew Lloyd Webber's LOVER NEVER DIES, the sequel to THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA.

On Monday, February 8th, the Theater People podcast welcomes stage and television star Megan Hilty. Shemade her Broadway debut in 2004 as the Glinda stanby in the Broadway production of WICKED, before she eventually took over the role full time. She also played the role on the First National Tour before creating the role for the Los Angeles sit down production.

On Monday, February 1st, Theater People Podcast welcomes SCHOOL OF ROCK star Alex Brightman. Before being cast in the leading role in the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Brightman made his Broadway debut as an understudy in GLORY DAYS (the show that infamously closed on its opening night). He went on to replace in the role of  Boq in the Broadway company of WICKED, Michael Wormwood in the Broadway company of MATILDA, and then joined the original Broadway company of BIG FISH.

Each one's a guilty pleasure! The February 7 cast for the new comedy-improv phenomenon 'Villain: DeBlanks' is just as dangerously funny as the previous line-ups. Audiences will be shown the evidence onSunday February 7, at 7:30pm at The Triad, 158 West 72nd Street. The series plays the first Sunday of the month through April 3, 2016.

Below, check out a just-released short film, introducing Tyrone - the truth-telling sock puppet - and star of Hand to God, who is about to cause havoc inLondon's West End, following a hugely successful Broadway run. The show opens for previews at the Vaudeville Theatre on Friday 5th February, the Press Night is Monday 15th February.

On Monday, January 18th, The Theater People podcast welcomes Tony-nominated FUN HOME star Beth Malone. Malone made her Broadway debut in the 2006 production of RING OF FIRE, and has found much success working regionally, including a critically acclaimed turn in the title role of THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN.
