The Joyce Theater Foundation has announced the return of Dorrance Dance to Chelsea’s home for dance. The extended two-week engagement will play The Joyce Theater from December 7-18.

Shuttered by the pandemic in March of 2020 and unable to present live performances, Hudson Valley’s Bridge Street Theatre has announced a four-month dance residency program utilizing the theater’s resources to nourish performing artists and develop new works during the current health crisis.

Serving as a bridge between tradition and innovation, history and progress - Indian Kathak and American Jazz Tap dance - continents and ages apart share parallel stories of struggle and perseverance in SPEAK.

Just in time for the holidays, The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) welcomes the return of the always-thrilling Dorrance Dance for three weeks of merriment and cheer. With a festive world premiere capping off each evening of three mixed-bill programs, Michelle Dorrance and her collaborators will play The Joyce Theater from December 17-January 5. On Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 6:30pm, 8pm and 9:30pm, Works & Process presents the first Works & Process Rotunda Project, a new initiative, commissioning site-specific residencies and performances for the iconic Guggenheim rotunda.

In the summer of 2017, The School at Jacob's Pillow, a world renowned center for professional dance training will present Professional Advancement Programs in Ballet, Contemporary, Musical Theatre Dance, and a Tap Program led by Michelle Dorrance.

In their first official engagement, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents Dorrance Dance with Toshi Reagon and BIGLovely in The Blues Project, October 5 and 6, 2016 for two performances in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater. Acclaimed tap dancer, choreographer, and 2015 MacArthur "Genius Grant" winner Michelle Dorrance and renowned versatile singer, songwriter, and guitarist Toshi Reagon combine their energetic ensembles for a dynamic collaboration honoring tap's uniquely beautiful history by pushing the boundaries of the genre.
