'The Mel Brooks Collection On Blu-ray Disc' Set for 12/15 Release

Best known as a creator of broad film farces and uproarious parodies, jack-of-all-trades Mel Brooks has been entertaining audiences for years with his wacky and absurdist humor. Now just in time for the holidays, the king of comedy's brilliant work is available for the first time in high definition in The Mel Brooks Collection on Blu-ray Disc, debuting December 15 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Tony Glazer's IN THE DAYLIGHT Opens 9/20 At The McGinn Theatre

Choice Theatricals and in association with Vital Theatre Company will present the World Premiere of Tony Glazer's new play, In the Daylight, directed by John Gould Rubin. Performances will begin on Tuesday, September 8th; opening on Sunday, September 20th and will run through October 11th, 2009 at the McGinn Cazale Theatre (2162 Broadway, 4th floor at 76th Street).

BAMcinematek To Present Robert Redford September 8-16

From September 8-16, BAMcinématek, the repertory film program at BAM Rose Cinemas, presents Robert Redford: Artist & Activist, a 16-film tribute to Redford's 50-year career in film. Robert Redford will be at BAM in-person to discuss his work as one of the 20th century's most celebrated actors and as an Academy-award winning director, as well as a leading environmental and social change activist, and champion of independent cinema as founder of The Sundance Institute.
