Broadway-Bound WHAT WOMEN DO (AND MEN TOO) Gets Reading at MTC Studios

A cast of six will lead a reading of the Broadway-bound WHAT WOMEN DO (and men too) written by playwright and Broadway performer William Youmans and directed by Don Stephenson. The new play is a battle-of-the-sexes farce set in New York City. The reading, which is being produced by The Resonance Ensemble, takes place on Tuesday July 7, 2015 at 7:00 p.m at the Manhattan Theatre Club Studios (311 W 43rd Street 8th Floor) and is open to the public. 

THE VOICE Finalist Joins Cast of New Musical HELD MOMENTARILY at NYMF

India Carney - the singer and actress who was a finalist on NBC-TV's "The Voice" earlier in 2015 - will return to the cast of the new musical HELD MOMENTARILY for The New York Musical Theatre Festival production from July 20 to July 27, 2015. Carney was in the original cast when the show premiered last year.  HELD MOMENTARILY will run at PTC Performance Space (555 West 42nd Street in New York). The show features book, music and lyrics by Oliver Houser, was developed by Hunter Bird and includes additional material by Hunter Bird and James Zebooker. BWW JR: PS 166 BROADWAY SINGS!

On Sunday, April 19th, guest artists from over 32 Broadway shows are assembling in what has become an annual tradition at The Richard Rodgers School, PS 166.  The Manhattan Upper Westside school baring the name of America's greatest lyric composer, Richard Rodgers, annually hosts this one night benefit concert, 'Broadway Sings', in support of arts education.

'Held Momentarily' is a poignant new musical comedy about making connections, living in the moment, and moving on in life. Conceived by a group of classmates from LaGuardia Arts High School (the 'Fame' school), the piece was originally workshopped in January 2014 at The Producers' Club, continued on to the New York International Fringe Festival at The Sheen Center, and will now extend to the FringeNYC Encore Series at SoHo Playhouse, to be helmed by director Hunter Bird and produced by Lionel Christian and Marielle Young, today, September 11-21.
