ACT Presents A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Films from RAWSTOCK, et al.

A Contemporary Theatre concludes 2010 with the continuing run of Martin McDonagh's outrageous farce The Lieutenant of Inishmore, and welcomes the 35th Anniversary of ACT's holiday tradition, A Christmas Carol. Alongside Mainstage thrills, the Central Heating Lab at ACT is cooking up some mighty fine entertainment, featuring music and film from Jose Bold, short films from RAWSTOCK, as well as the return of Short Stories Live at Town Hall and the conclusions of the 2010 SOIL at ACT window displays and InterACTions 2010: Mindscapes. And it wouldn't be the holiday season without a special shopping opportunity: StageCraft will host an end of year Holiday Gift Bazaar, featuring one-of-a-kind art, jewelry and pottery from local theatre artists. It's all here at ACT!

Book It Rep Presents RED RANGER CAME CALLING, 11/23-12/23

Red Ranger Came Calling was first performed in 2003 for Book-It's 14th season, and by popular demand was reprised in 2004. Berkeley Breathed's illustrated classic returns again for Book-It Repertory Theatre's 21st season adapted and directed by Myra Platt with music by Myra Platt and Edd Key. Red Ranger is a fun, affordable holiday show that runs from November 23 until December 23 in the Eve Alvord Theatre at Seattle Children's Theatre, with previews November 23, 24, 26 and 27.

Miracle Theatre Group Presents VIVA DON JUAN, 10/28-11/14

From Oct. 28 through Nov. 14, Miracle Theatre Group is pleased to display an exhibit of ofrendas (altars) created by local Latino artists in celebration of Día de los muertos (Day of the Dead). The exhibit, curated by Pepe Moscoso of FusionArte is free and open to the public one hour prior to each performance of Miracle Theatre Group's original, bilingual production ¡Viva Don Juan! plus 12 noon-2pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

With all the success and excitement generated by Long Day's Journey Into Night still reverberating through the Portland arts community, Artists Rep is thrilled to immediately offer the comic counterpart Ah, Wilderness! Previews begin September 7, 2010, just two days after Long Day's Journey Into Night closes.

Artists Rep Extends LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT to 9/5

Due to robust advance ticket sales Artists Repertory Theatre will extend the run of Long Day's Journey Into Night until September 5. The world-class production of Long Day's Journey Into Night comes to Portland, Oregon after playing to sold out houses for five weeks in Sydney, Australia. Artists Repertory Theatre and Sydney Theatre Company bring this Broadway-caliber international collaboration to Portland for a three-week engagement. Opening Night is August 14, 2010, with one preview performance August 13, 2010. Long Day's Journey Into Night runs August 13-September 5, 2010 at the Newmark Theatre, 1111 SW Broadway, Portland, Oregon.

Hedgebrook & ACT Present Sarah Jones for One Night Only, 8/18

In partnership with ACT, Hedgebrook, one of the few residency programs in the world exclusively dedicated to supporting the creative process of women writers, is producing a one night only performance of Broadway sensation Sarah Jones, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. as a benefit for Hedgebrook.

Intiman Presents RUINED 'Farewell Cabaret,' 8/16

Intiman Theatre announces a one-night-only special event, the 'Ruined Farewell Cabaret,' on Monday, August 16 at 7 pm. The concert will feature members of the cast of Lynn Nottage's acclaimed play Ruined performing their favorite songs. Among the artists scheduled to appear are Condola Rashad (Sophie), David St. Louis (Commander Osembenga), Stephen Tyrone Williams (Simon and, recently, Cory Maxson in Fences at Seattle Repertory Theatre), musicians Simon Shabantu Kashama and Ron McBee, and company member Victoire Charles.

Congressman McDermott to Speak at Intiman Following Final Performance Of RUINED 8/15

Intiman Theatre announces that U.S. Congressman Jim McDermott will speak and answer questions about his personal experience with and interest in African issues following the final performance of Lynn Nottage's Ruined on Sunday, August 15 at 2 pm. This event is free for the audience and open to the public.

RUINED Extends At Intiman Theatre Through 8/15

Due to audience demand and strong ticket sales, Intiman Theatre is extending its run of Lynn Nottage's Ruined for an additional week of performances, through August 15.
