BWW Reviews: Freddie Washington Quartet Kicks off Black Rep's Sunday Concert Series in Fine Fashion

A member of the St. Louis Blues and Jazz Hall of Fame returned to his roots this past Sunday bringing a trio of talented musicians in tow. The Freddie Washington Quartet, led by the saxophonist extraordinaire, put on a blistering 90 minute set at the Grandel this past Sunday (1/29/2012) that showcased Washington and his fellow musicians' considerable talents. Though the turn out was less than stellar, you couldn't tell by the music that flowed from this group. This was one evening that a lot of people will be kicking themselves for missing.

DEDALUS LOUNGE Extended Through February 2

New York: Interart Theatre and Royal Family Productions (RFP) will extend Gary Duggan's Dedalus Lounge, directed by RFP's Chris Henry, with original musical by Anthony Rapp and Daniel A. Weiss and choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter (On a Clear Day…). Dedalus Lounge began performances on January 8 and celebrated its opening night on January 12. Originally slated to end its run on January 30, but has been extended through February 2, 2012 at the Interart Theatre Annex (500 West 52 Street, 2nd Floor). Nickelodeon and the White House Join Forces to Support Military Families With Special 'iCarly' Episode

Nickelodeon and the White House are joining forces to bring awareness to ways kids can support U.S. military families with a special episode of iCarly, featuring the First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama, premiering Monday, Jan. 16, at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT). Leading up to the debut of iCarly 'iMeet the First Lady,' the stars of the hit series will appear at four screening events for military families across the country.
