The Arvada Center will open the regional premiere of a new restaging of Chess, A Musical directed by Rod A. Lansberry on March 27 running through April 15, 2012 in the Main Stage Theater. Performances are Tuesday - Saturday at 7:30 pm, Wednesday at 1pm, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Preview performances are March 23 - 25. Moderated talkbacks with the cast are offered on Friday, April 6 after 7:30 p.m. show and Wednesday, April 11 after 1:00 p.m. show. Ticket prices range from $35 (previews) - $72. The Barnyard Theatre has announced that its Rivonia venue is now open for bookings for its first show. This new 500-seater theatre will open its doors to the public on 20 March 2012 for SIX OF THE BEST, a tribute to Freddie Mercury, Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf, Billy Joel, Cher & Pink which then runs until 29 April.

When Jim and Kay Thigpen announced at the beginning of their 27th Season that they would be officially retiring from Trustus Theatre - South Carolina's premiere professional theater which they co-founded in 1985 - the Trustus Board of Directors instantly formed a committee to fill their positions. In a meeting on Valentine's Day 2012 the Trustus Board of Directors officially announced that Larry Hembree will become the new Executive Director of the theatre with long-time Trustus Company Member and Associate Artistic Director Dewey Scott-Wiley taking the reigns as the new Artistic Director in the 28th season.

Three outstanding maestros-Kurt Masur, Christoph Eschenbach, and Stephane Deneve-will each conduct a program by the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in its annual visits to Carnegie Hall this March, with music ranging from large-scale Romantic choral music to twentieth-century Russian works. Between the second and third BSO programs, the Boston Pops returns to Carnegie Hall with conductor Keith Lockhart for the first time since 2000, for a program featuring the acclaimed trio Time for Three (making its Carnegie Hall debut) and a special tribute to the "King of Swing," Benny Goodman, featuring BSO clarinetist Thomas Martin.
