According to Indie Wire, Oscar contenders  A STAR IS BORN and BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY will compete in the Golden Globes race as dramas and not musicals. At The Disco will pay tribute to legendary British rock band, Queen, with a special performance of the award-winning hit, "Bohemian Rhapsody." This performance will take place at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia as part of the "2018 American Music Awards." The song, written by Freddie Mercury for the band's 1975 album A Night at the Opera, remains one of Queen's most popular and is often considered one of the greatest rock songs of all time. Rami Malek, Joe Mazzello and Gwilym Lee, cast of the upcoming 20th Century Fox Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, will introduce Panic! At The Disco's performance live from the awards show in Los Angeles. Nominated this year for Favorite Artist - Alternative Rock, this will mark Panic! At The Disco's first performance on the AMAs. Hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross, the "2018 American Music Awards," the world's largest fan-voted awards show, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 8:00 p.m. EDT, on ABC.

Montalvo Arts Center will present The Ultimate Queen Celebration as part of its 2018-2019 Carriage House Theatre Concert Series. Garnering 13 million views on his YouTube cover of "Somebody to Love," Marc Martel not only sounds dead-on like Freddie Mercury, but also embodies the heart-and-soul Freddie poured into every song. Handpicked by Queen's Roger Taylor and Brian May, Marc Martel will take on lead vocals for this Queen tribute featuring dozens of songs that Queen made famous, including "Killer Queen," "Radio Gaga," "Bohemian Rhapsody," and more. Dustin S. Cates, Artistic Director of Heartland Men's Chorus (HMC), announced Monday their 33rd year will again present three distinct concerts, all with the show stopping productions for which HMC has become known and all created to change hearts and minds. But Season 33 is also incredibly unique. "In our 33 years," said Cates, "We've not done something this big, produced by two dozen gay choruses, including the largest gay choruses in the U.S., where WE get to perform it first. It's quite an honor. We are basically telling the story of the Gay Rights Movement through song, poetry, pictures and videos. And it's quite an undertaking."

Marc Martel has a naturally uncanny vocal likeness to Freddie Mercury. A successful musician in his own right in his native Canada, Marc came to prominence when auditioning as a singer for Queen's Roger Taylor and Brian May's official tribute band, Queen Extravaganza back in 2012.
