BWW Previews: MUMBAI MUSICIANS TO PAY A TRIBUTE TO FREDDIE MERCURY

There are certain musicians who create an everlasting impact in the annals of history. So, whether or not your were born in the era when the song - ''I Want to Break Free,'' became a cult classic, chances are, it may have played a vital role in your life as an anthem at some point.

If you are Freddie Mercury fan and happen to be in Mumbai next month, you do need to list an upcoming show paying tribute to the legendary artist in your schedule book. Pronto.

A first of its kind live performance in Mumbai is being organized which will have the audience jiving to the energy of songs from Queen.

From the classics such as 'Another One Bites the Dust,' 'We Will Rock You,' to 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' the organizers of the event Danesh Irani and Danesh Khambatta promise that the audience will be treated to all this and much more.

The event titled Queen, will be staged on the occasion to also mark ten years of the production house Silly Points. Talking about the show, Danesh Irani who is a partner at Silly Point Productions says, "What better way to celebrate 10 years of Silly Point Productions than to pay tribute to one of the greatest legends of all time - Freddy Mercury!" Talking about working with the team in an event that celebrates a global legend he adds, "Merlin Dsouza and the All-Stars are a dream to work with and to top it off, Meherzad Patel scripting the host segments that I share with Danesh Khambata are hilarious." Visibly excited about the show, he advises the audience to bring on their dancing shoes!"

The music of the show is assembled by composer Merlyn D'Souza. Other musicians who will be a part of the show are guitarist Adil Manuel, Saurabh Suman on Bass, Ronit Chaterji of Hindi Alt Rock band Rang will be giving the vocals amongst some other prominent names from the music world.

While Mumbai audiences have always proved their penchant for varied music which shows in the fact that most International Artists choose to perform in Mumbai, how this evening will unfold, will also determine how the city responds to the legend of all times.
