Second Stage Theatre 2015 Uptown Series' acclaimed production of KING LIZ has been extended by one week and will now play through Saturday, August 15.  Written by Fernanda Coppel (Chimichangas and Zoloft) and directed by Lisa Peterson, KING LIZ features MICHAEL CULLEN, JEREMIE HARRIS, RUSSELL G. JONES, CAROLINE LAGERFELT, IRENE SOFIA LUCIO and KAREN PITTMAN.

Williamstown Theatre Festival Artistic Director Mandy Greenfield has announced a New Play Commissioning Program and New Musical Commissioning Program, through which the Festival will commission and develop three to five projects annually from playwrights, composers and collaborative devisers from across the career spectrum. The program launches with inaugural artists Fernanda Coppel (whose new play King Liz premieres this summer at Second Stage), Halley Feiffer (I'm Gonna Pray for You So Hard, which just finished an acclaimed run at the Atlantic Theater Company), and Benjamin Scheuer (creator of the current Off Broadway hit The Lion). Each commission also includes a writing residency at Williamstown Theatre Festival.

La Jolla Playhouse announces the appointment of Jaime Castañeda to the new position of Associate Artistic Director. In addition to joining the Playhouse's artistic team, Castañeda will direct several projects, including the final subscription show for the 2015/16 season, to be announced shortly.

Sundance Institute today announced the seven artists selected for its 2015 Playwrights & Composers Retreat at Ucross Foundation. The 16th annual writing colony at the 20,000-acre working cattle ranch outside of Sheridan, WY takes place February 2-20. Under the supervision of Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Playwrights Retreat is made possible through the generosity of Ucross Foundation. The program is one of the 24 residency labs across many creative disciplines focusing on artistic process that Sundance Institute offers annually.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announces the 2014 F*ck!ng Good Plays (festival, V): six (6) days of new play readings by six of today's hottest playwrights. The festival, to be presented at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, west of Seventh Avenue South between West 11th and Perry Streets, will begin on Tuesday, October 7th and continue through Sunday, October 12. Attending the 13th Annual Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA) Awards presented by Delta Air Lines tonight, October 8, 2012 will be SAG-AFTRA elected leadership reps that include national SAG-AFTRA Co- President, Roberta Reardon and national SAG-AFTRA Co-Treasurer and Co-Secretary, Amy Aquino. Also joining the celebration will be Tony Plana, Tony Shalhoub, Brooke Adams and CNN's Jane Vélez-Mitchell. A special tribute to the late Lupe Ontiveros will be given by Latin Heat Editor and co-host of 'HOLA L.A.' Bel Hernández. Odalys Molina and Jorge Ramos will serve as the Masters of Ceremonies of this year's HOLA Awards.
