Uplifting Tribute to the Bronx GROWING UP GONZALES to Hit Medicine Show Theater

From Executive Producers Maria Torres, John O'Connor, Michael and Sandra Lang, Maria Barreto and Linda Garcia comes GROWING UP GONZALES, a vibrant and uplifting Bronx tale. Previews begin on Friday, March 17th at Medicine Show Theater, 549 West 52nd Street between 10th and 11th Avenues. The production's official opening will be on Thursday, March 30th at 7PM.

The Broadway Comedy Club Hosts the National Improv League Finals 9/25

The Broadway Comedy Club hosts the 2016 National Improv League Championship Game. After a grueling six weeks that saw sixteen teams from around the country go head to head in comedy's most illustrious competition, two teams stand alone. Representing Washington DC 'The DC Comics' and From Los Angeles 'The LA Lol's'. At stake is the NIL Trophie and a $20,000 cash prize. Ten performers, the referee, the prize and a super involved audience, that helps dictate the action, come together to bring to the stage this tightly rapped yet chaotic comedy thriller.

National Improve League to Host Comedy Night at Nuyorican Poet's Cafe

The National Improv League, a ground breaking Latino based comedy competition that brings 14 performers, a referee, a special guest and an all inclusive audience to The Nuyorican Poet's Cafe in the East Village. Conceived, directed and produced by award winning writer, director, producer Felix Rojas, The NIL combines just about every element of comedy into a very neat yet chaotic stew of hilarity. Although most of the players in the league are Latino, make no mistake, this show gives a new meaning to the word diverse.

THE NATIONAL IMPROV LEAGUE to Perform at The Nuyorican Poet's Cafe, 6/26

The National Improv League, a ground breaking Latino based comedy competition that brings 14 performers, a referee, a special guest and an all inclusive audience to The Nuyorican Poet's Cafe in the East Village. Conceived, directed and produced by award winning writer, director, producer Felix Rojas, The NIL combines just about every element of comedy into a very neat yet chaotic stew of hilarity. Although most of the players in the league are Latino, make no mistake, this show gives a new meaning to the word diverse. Joining the Latino's on stage are three African Americans, a Brit, a Jew, a Greek and a Rasta Rican.

New York Public Library Hosts GROWING UP GONZALEZ Pop-Up Performance Today, 6/2

The New York Public Library (NYPL) and Souleo Enterprises LLC, an event/media production company, have formed a partnership to provide adult library patrons with an exciting line-up of artistic/cultural, LGBT and financial literacy summer programming, beginning June 2012. Highlighting the evolving role of libraries as educational culture hubs, programming includes improv performances by the National Comedy Theater; make-up makeovers by NYC's top drag queens such as Hedda Lettuce; a panel on LGBT hip-hop; celebrity impersonators discussing diva worship; music industry veterans Meli'sa Morgan, Full Force and Christopher "Play" Martin discussing overcoming financial struggles; a master class in career reinvention by George C. Fraser; interactive workshops featuring the iconic drag entertainer John Epperson (Lypsinka's Maid); a fashion reinvention design workshop with Beau McCall; and much more. GROWING UP GONZALES Extends At Jan Hus Playhouse Thru 3/31

The Off-Broadway production, 'Growing Up Gonzales,' written and directed by Felix Rojas, performed by Andres Chulisi Rodriguez, has been extended through March 31, 2012 at The Jan Hus Playhouse, 351 E 74th Street between 1st & 2nd Avenues.

The Family Theatre Announces 'Growing Up Gonzales' and 'Times Square Pinero'

The artistic children of Marvin Felix 'Pancho' Camillo (d.1988), founder of The Family theatre, are making a resurgence right now. Three Family 'cousins' -- Felix Rojas, Antone Pagan and Camillo's son, Marvin Felix Camillo, Jr. -- are hard at work rekindling the Family Theatre's legacy.
