Theatre Exile closes its 17th season with the Philadelphia premiere of Annapurna, a moving and explosive new play by critically acclaimed, emerging Broadway playwright Sharr White. Driven by the emotionally charged relationship between a husband and wife, Exile's production stars Barrymore Award-winning actors Pearce Bunting (Exile's A Behanding in Spokane, HBO's Boardwalk Empire) and Catharine Slusar (Iron, Any Given Monday) as Ulysses and Emma. Performances run April 17 - May 11 in Theatre Exile's South Philadelphia Studio X.

Last night Atlantic Theater Company presented their annual Gala at The Pierre (2 East 61st Street). Directed by Neil Pepe with musical direction by Matt Gallagher, Writers' Choice saluted Atlantic's iconic playwrights with an evening of unexpected songs. For this year's Gala, Atlantic asked alumni playwrights to choose a favorite song and a favorite musician to perform it. Writers' Choice featured special tributes to Annie Baker, Martha Clarke, Stephen Adly Guirgis, David Mamet, Conor McPherson, and Doug Wright from presenters and performers Jonathan Cake, Bridget Everett, John Gallagher Jr., Rick Holmes, Brian D'Arcy James, Gary Jules, John Kelly, Zosia Mamet, Julianne Nicholson, Laura Osnes, Michael Park, Mary Beth Peil and Isiah Whitlock, Jr. among others. Playwright Paul Downs Colaizzo brings his newly published play, Really Really, to New York City's famed The Drama Book Shop (250 West 40th Street) on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 6:00PM for a discussion of the work as well as a book signing. Co-stars of the 2013 New York premiere production of Really Really, Zosia Mamet and Evan Jonigkeit, will also read an excerpt from the play. Joining Colaizzo in a discussion of the play will be Mamet and Jonigkeit as well as Will Cantler, one of the Artistic Directors of MCC Theater, which produced Really Really last winter at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC), where it was twice-extended. This event is open to the public. Really Really is now published by The Overlook Press and available in stores and online.
