John Treacy Egan will star as Ebeneezer Scrooge in A SLEEPY HOLLOW CHRISTMAS CAROL. Egan's SCROOGE will take on Washington Irving's characters, when he stars in this enchanting musical which is set in the town of Sleepy Hollow, New York in 1900. A new twist on an old classic, It weaves the magic of the Charles Dickens classic with the delightful characters from Washington Irving's vivid imagination and tells the tale of a Sleepy Hollow businessman, Ebenezer Scrooge, who had no love in his heart for his fellow man, especially at Christmastime. Scrooge meets Washington Irving who takes him on a redemptive adventure to his past, present and future where he meets his boyhood self and such characters as Ichabod Crane, Katrina Van Tassel, Jacob Marley, Tiny Tim and several other surprising encounters. Westchester native and Broadway veteran John Treacy Egan will perform a concert at the Emilin Theatre in Mamaroneck, NY, on January 22. The concert is entitled 'John Treacy Egan's Great Big Broadway Valentine' and will include songs from Broadway favorites such as West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, Carousel, and many more.

Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, announced nominations this morning for the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards. Eva Mendes and Jeremy Renner served as presenters and 2011 Spirit Awards host Joel McHale was also on hand. Nominees for Best Feature include 127 Hours, Black Swan, Greenberg, The Kids Are All Right and Winter's Bone.
