The Broward Center for the Performing Arts announced today that individual tickets for the Fort Lauderdale engagement of Roundabout Theatre Company's CABARET will go on sale Friday, November 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

Beginning October 24th and 25th with workshop early draft  readings of ALL FALL DOWN by Lisa Ramirez (PF Resident Playwright), the series continues monthly December 2016 through May 2017 with seven exceptional new works that are pushing into new theatrical territory, challenging assumptions, and presenting deeply felt dilemmas within our culture and world society.

CASA 0101 Theater, Josefina Lopez, Artistic Director and the newly formed production company, Angel City Theater Ensemble (ACTE), Vance Valencia, Founder, will present the Los Angeles Premiere of the critically acclaimed play, MARIELA IN THE DESERT, written by Karen Zacarias, directed by Robert Beltran (Star Trek:  Voyager; Zoot Suit; Eating Raoul).  The production will be presented for a five-week run on the theater's Main Stage located at 2102 East First Street (at St. Louis Street), Boyle Heights, CA  90033 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and on Sundays at 5:00 p.m., November 4 - December 11, 2016.  There will be no performances on Thanksgiving Weekend, November 25th, 26th and 27th.

Roundabout Theatre Company presents Mike Bartlett's new play, Love, Love Love, directed by Michael Mayer, featuring Richard Armitage, Alex Hurt, Zoe Kazan, Ben Rosenfield and Amy Ryan. Love, Love, Love opened officially last night, October 19, 2016, Off-Broadway at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). Still witty, smart and funny at 95 years of age, the legendary comic Marty Allen was hosted (not roasted) at a Friars Club lunch.  Emmy Award winning Friar Bill Boggs interviewed Marty about his long career in show business.  Marty worked as an opening act for stars such as Sarah Vaughan, Eydie Gorme and Nat King Cole gained enormous fame when he teamed up with singer Steve Rossi and made 44 appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show.  In 1961 and 1962 Allen appeared on Broadway in Let It Ride! at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre and then went on to perform in the pre-Broadway tour and Broadway performances of I Had A Ball.

Amphibian Stage Productions has announced the final cast member for its fourth main stage play of the 2016 season, Smart Pretty Funny by Kathleen Culebro. Starring Gretchen Corbett, Van Quattro, Vanessa DeSilvio, Ivan Jasso, and Anastasia Muñoz, the play will run Today, October 20 through Sunday, November 13 at the Berlene T. and Jarrell R. Milburn Theatre at Amphibian Stage Productions.

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, has broken the house record in Iowa City for the week ending October 16, 2016 at Hancher Auditorium grossing $1,197,605.50 for a standard 8-performance week.

59E59 Theaters welcomes the return of Rhyme Town when THE CITY THAT CRIED WOLF, written by Brooks Reeves and directed by Leta Tremblay, returns for State of Play Productions' 10th Anniversary season.

The Public Theater has announced a final extension today for the first major New York revival of PLENTY, written by David Hare. Directed by five-time Tony Award nominee David Leveaux, the show began performances on Tuesday, November 4 and was originally extended through Sunday, November 20. It will now run through Thursday, December 1, with an official press opening Sunday, October 23.

The National Theatre of the Deaf is pleased to announce a performance of excerpts from John Basinger's THE KING, based on the title character in William Shakespeare's KING LEAR. Mr. Basinger will also direct this production for NTD. Patrick Graybill plays the lead character.  Graybill is responsible for the Sign Language adaptation of THE KING.   

Quintessence Theatre Group continues producing progressive classic theatre and launces its seventh season with David Hare's translation of Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage and Her Children, with original music by Michael Friedman.

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre - the monthly gathering of the International Order of Sodomites, the centuries-old organization which sets the mythic Gay Agenda - will continue its eighth and final season on Sunday, October 23 at 9:30 PM at Joe's Pub at The Public Theater. The October 2016 edition will both celebrate 'The Gay Agenda' - the debut comedy album from Justin Sayre - and pay homage to Bette Midler. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the world premiere production of The Last Tiger in Haiti by playwright Jeff Augustin and directed by Joshua Kahan Brody. A co-production with La Jolla Playhouse, where the play had its world premiere in June, The Last Tiger in Haiti begins previews Today, October 14 and the show runs through Sunday, November 27. Individual tickets start at $29 and can be purchased online at berkeleyrep.org or by phone, 510 647-2949. Press night will be on Today, October 21.
