Tickets to WICKED, a new musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Academy Award winner for Pocahontas and The Prince of Egypt) and book by Winnie Holzman ('My So Called Life,' 'Once And Again' and 'thirtysomething') based on the best-selling 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire, will go on sale Saturday, June 20, 2009. WICKED will play in Des Moines Wednesday, Sept. 23 to Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009

After breaking box office records and selling out in record time in 2007, WICKED, the smash-hit musical will return to Providence, RI, December 16, 2009 through January 10, 2010. Tickets for WICKED's return engagement go on sale Saturday, October 17; the PPAC Box Office, located at 220 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence, will open at 8A for in-person sales only. Beginning at 10A, tickets can also be purchased online at www.ppacri.org or by phone at (401) 421-ARTS (2787). Additional details regarding WICKED's on-sale event will be announced soon.

The Huntington Theatre Company opens its 28th season - a season of American stories - with August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning Fences, the sixth chapter of his groundbreaking ten-play cycle about the 20th century African-American experience. Kenny Leon (Radio Golf, Gem of the Ocean, A Raisin in the Sun), acclaimed director and Wilson's final collaborator before his death, returns to the Huntington to helm the production, which stars John Beasley (Two Trains Running, Jitney, 'Everwood').
