Emma Rice's WISE CHILDREN Plays At HOME Manchester

Wise Children and The Old Vic bring their world premiere production of Angela Carter's novel Wise Children, adapted and directed by Emma Rice and co- produced by the Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Oxford Playhouse, and York Theatre Royal, to HOME in Manchester Tuesday 26 February - Saturday 2 March 2019.

Emma Rice is back after her kerfuffle with Shakespeare's Globe, debuting her brand new company with an adaptation of Angela Carter's novel of the same name. After being shown out of the Bard's doors last April, and following the company's funding controversy, she silences doubters by taking up residency at the Old Vic with a gloriously colourful and unashamedly bold first show.

The Old Vic today announces the cast of Wise Children, which will have its world premiere at The Old Vic on 17 October, with previews from 8 October, ahead of its UK tour. The cast includes Sam Archer, Ankur Bahl, Stu Barker, Omari Douglas, Mirabelle Gremaud, Alex Heane, Paul Hunter, Melissa James, Bettrys Jones, Patrycja Kujawska, Etta Murfitt, Katy Owen, Ian Ross, Gareth Snook and Mike Shepherd.

After a short stay at the Bristol Old Vic, and an award-winning run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Daniel Jamieson's play about the life and love of Marc and Bella Chagall begins a UK/US tour at Wilton's Music Hall in east London. Directed by Emma Rice, it follows in the wake of Romantics Anonymous and precedes the return of Brief Encounter and the debut of her brand new theatre company Wise Children.

It will open to press at Liverpool Everyman this week, then transfer to West Yorkshire Playhouse before travelling to Bristol, Cornwall and finishing in London's Shoreditch Town Hall. National Youth Ballet Announces 30th Anniversary Season

For its 30th Anniversary Season, The National Youth Ballet of Great Britain ("The NYB") will present Time in Motion, a mixed programme of ballets choreographed by some of the UKs most eminent professionals and rising talents, performed by a company of young dancers aged 8-18 from across the UK.

BWW Review: TWELFTH NIGHT, Shakespeare's Globe

This seems to be the year of Twelfth Night, with the National Theatre's production recently closing and several other touring companies taking it on. But what better place to bring it to life than the Globe, in Emma Rice's 'Summer of Love'? It now plays alongside Daniel Kramer's Romeo and Juliet, making it the first of Shakespeare's comedies being performed there this season.

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Presents the Los Angeles Premiere of 946: THE AMAZING STORY OF ADOLPHUS TIPS

The brilliant theatricality of Kneehigh, the innovative United Kingdom-based theater company, will be on display at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts once again when 946: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips has its Los Angeles premiere.  Based on the beloved book by War Horse author Michael Morpurgo, 946 explores everything we thought we knew about the D-Day landings in this tender musical tale of love and war. Adapted by Morpurgo and Emma Rice, who also directs, 946 is a Kneehigh production presented in association with Birmingham Repertory and Berkeley Repertory Theatres. Performances begin February 9 with the opening on February 10.
