The next production to open at Hayes Theatre Co will be a brand new production of Nick Enright and Max Lambert's musical Miracle City presented by Luckiest Productions in association with Hayes Theatre Co from today, October 17 - November 16 2014.

More performers have been announced to take part in the 10th and final LIGHT THE NIGHT. The concert, which raises much need funds for The Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation, will be hosted by international musical therapist and hilarious YouTube sensation, Jan van de Stool and will be held at the City Recital Hall Angel Place on Monday October 27.

Star of TV's Winners and Losers and talented cabaret artist Virginia Gay will be this year's compere with a twist at the one-night-only Twisted Broadway charity concert at Arts Centre Melbourne, Playhouse on Monday 4th August, 2014.

As previously reported, following a successful run in Melbourne, the producers of KING KONG were planning to bring the mega-musical to Broadway in December 2014. Due to the 'huge scale of the production' and to allow the creative team necessary time to implement changes, the producers have decided 'to not rush in before the end of the year.'

The Green Room Awards are Melbourne's performing arts awards and recognise the world-class Cabaret, Dance, Musical Theatre, Opera, Theatre and Alternative and Hybrid Performance productions that grace Melbourne's stages each year. After 5 years of development, 6 months of rehearsal, 4 season extensions and 293 curtain calls, KING KONG has its final performance today, 16 February 2014. The mega-musical is reportedly aiming to open on Broadway in December 2014, and producers have also been in discussions to bring KONG to Germany, Korea, Japan and Las Vegas after New York.

Since it premiered in Melbourne last year, running on a budget of $30 million, producers have been eyeing KONG's Broadway debut - only saying that they were aiming for the 2014-15 season.

The new stage musical KING KONG - one of the greatest love stories ever told - features an all-Australian lead cast and a line-up of International Artistscontributing to the score. It is currently playing at the Regent Theatre.

According to The Age, the creators of the new Australian musical KING KONG are searching for a theater on Broadway. Global Creatures' producer Bill Harris, technical director Richard Martin and production designer Peter England are vetting theaters this week. The team is looking to launch KING KONG in the United States within the next two years.

The 13th Annual Helpmann Awards were presented tonight live in Sydney at the Joan Sutherland Theatre, Sydney Opera House and broadcast on Foxtel's Arena. In his column at The New York Times, Patrick Healy has confirmed that producer Carmen Pavlovic and the rest of the KONG crew are set to bring the silverback titan to Broadway within the next year - if one of the few houses with the necessary space and fly room becomes available.
