Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) announces Bucks County's own John Augustine to return (The Hummingbird's Tour, 2014, Director) to the Bucks County Playhouse stage as 'Larry' in Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY, running May 29-June 21. Augustine will play alongside Broadway's Candy Buckley (Scandalous, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cabaret) as 'Joanne'.

The touching, funny, and warmly insightful story, which went from a Tony Award-winning play on Broadway to an Oscar winning film starring Katharine Hepburn, Henry Fonda and Jane Fonda, runs now through March 29, with a press opening on Sunday, March 1. Three musicals and two plays - along with the return of the 2nd OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN FESTIVAL for lyricists - will comprise the historic BUCKS COUNTY PLAYHOUSE's 76th anniversary season in New Hope, Pa. starting in April, it has been announced by the Playhouse's producing team of Tony Award-winning producers, Alexander Fraser, Robyn Goodman, Stephen Kocis and Josh Fiedler.

In a beautifully designed and rustically appointed set, director Brad Allen has choreographed a sensitively balanced dance of requited and unrequited loves, supported by a marvelous cast, in Ernest Thompson's ON GOLDEN POND. Michael Fleck and Judy Lebeau have crafted an attractive and endearing portrait of a couple in the prime of their lives. Together, they are terrific and, in their distinctly understated but effective ways, offer a masters class in acting.

The new production will be on stage at the Jungle, 2951 Lyndale Av. S. in Minneapolis, through December 21.

Wichita Community Theatre will present On Golden Pond, by Ernest Thompson from Sept. 10-14, 2014. This is a Spotlight production that only plays a one week run.
