The Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q, currently playing off-Broadway at New World Stages, celebrated its 10th anniversary yesterday, July 31. Prior to curtain, Media and Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver presented a proclamation from the City of New York to the musical's cast, creators and producers declaring July 31 as AVENUE Q DAY. Plenty of past cast members were there to celebrate, along with the musical's creators- Robert Lopez, Jeff Marx, and Jeff Whitty. Forty-Seven Percent Records, a division of Happy Panda Productions, have released a music video entitled 'Black Romney: Binders Full O Bitches' in which "Black Romney", a rapper version of Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, expresses his disinterest in a variety of human beings, such as the unemployed, homosexuals, single mothers, and many others. Created, written and directed by Asian-American actress and comedienne Deborah S. Craig (CW's "Hart of Dixie") and starring Burl Moseley, this piece of political satire also features cameos by Broadway performers Jared Gertner (currently starring in the national tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON), Haviland Stillwell and Erin Quill.
