Adelphi University's BEST OF BROADWAY: GOLD, RUBIES AND PEARLS Set for 10/17-18

The Department of Music at Adelphi University is proud to present the latest installment of its Best of Broadway concerts titled Gold, Rubies and Pearls celebrating the anniversaries of many Broadway classics. The show is directed by Adelphi adjuncts Erin Quill, from the original Broadway company of the Tony award-winning Avenue Q, and Jad Bernardo, the award-winning musical director. The program will take place on Saturday, October 17, at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 18, at 4:00 p.m. at the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center, Concert Hall, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, New York. This performance is part of the Poole Family Broadway Series which is generously sponsored by Mary Jane and Thomas Poole.

The performance will include an exploration of the rich musical traditions of Broadway (and Off-Broadway) by showcasing the popular tunes of the last 50 years from shows celebrating anniversaries. The program will feature classic songs and arrangements from shows such as The Sound of Music, Show Boat, Chicago, Smokey Joe's Café, Nunsense and many more. This annual favorite is sure to provide enjoyment to audience members of all ages.

Adelphi University's Performing Arts Center (AUPAC) is one of Long Island's premier cultural arts venues for entertainment of all kinds. Tickets are currently on sale and are priced at $20, with discounts available to seniors, students and alumni. Regular box office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 1-6 p.m. The box office is also open two hours before most scheduled performances.
