Photo Coverage: New York Pops Presents 'The Music of ABBA'

On October 15, 2010 at 8:00 PM, The New York Pops launched its 28th season; a Carnegie Hall series celebrating the stylistic diversity of some of popular music's greatest icons. In this opening night program, Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke led the orchestra in 'The Music of ABBA', an electrifying concert featuring the acclaimed Finnish vocal ensemble Rajaton in performances of 'Dancing Queen,' 'Mamma Mia,' 'Take a Chance on Me', and other hits by the Swedish supergroup ABBA. A bona fide pop phenomenon in their native Finland, Rajaton's singing style and presentation has proven them a prodigious talent on the world stage.

This Thursday, October 14th at 7:00 pm KT Sullivan will host the first performance of the special concert / benefits of 'Bewitched, The Songs of Rodgers and Hart' at The Triad Theatre 158 West 72nd Street NYC by The Philhallmonic Society. The show will be performed again with a slightly different cast on Friday, October 22nd at 9:00 pm. Bewitched is directed and arranged by Phil Hall, and is staged by Broadway dancer and choreographer Mark Santoro. The Philhallmonic Society delivers an unforgettable musical experience of the highest caliber. There will be two casts for the special concert / benefits of "Bewitched, The Songs of Rodgers and Hart" at The Triad Theatre 158 West 72nd Street NYC (east of Broadway) by The Philhallmonic Society. The shows will be performed on Thursday, October 14th at 7:00 pm and Friday, October 22nd at 9:00 pm.

There will be another performance of 'Bewitched, The Songs of Rodgers and Hart' at The Triad Theatre 158 West 72nd Street NYC (east of Broadway) by The Philhallmonic Society. The shows will be performed on Thursday, October 14th at 7:00 pm and also on Friday, October 22nd at 9:00 pm. This special event concert is a benefit for this unique organization. Bewitched is directed and arranged by international Broadway composer, conductor and producer Phil Hall, and is staged by Broadway dancer and choreographer Mark Santoro. The Philhallmonic Society delivers an unforgettable musical experience of the highest caliber. The respective performers for each of the shows will soon be announced. Tickets are only $20 for general admission* and $30 for premium seating*. There is a two drink minimum for the shows. It is cash only at the theatre.

Blythe, Morley, Owens Perform with The Collegiate Chorale, 10/13

The Collegiate Chorale, led by music director James Bagwell, announces its 69th season, including Brahms' Alto Rhapsody and A German Requiem, featuring Stephanie Blythe, Erin Morley, and Eric Owens, on October 13, 2010 at 7pm at Carnegie Hall; Knickerbocker Holiday on January 25 and 26, 2011 at 8pm at Alice Tully Hall; and two special events: We Remember Them: Choral Music from the Camps and the Ghettos on March 10, 2011 at 7pm at Central Synagogue, and Something Wonderful - A Night of Broadway with Deborah Voigt, conducted by Ted Sperling, on May 19, 2011 at 7pm at Carnegie Hall.

Music Team Announced For SHINE! The Horatio Alger Musical, Opens 10/7

The Collegiate Chorale Featured at Carnegie Hall, 10/13

The Collegiate Chorale presents Johannes Brahms' Alto Rhapsody and A German Requiem on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at 7pm at Carnegie Hall, 881 Seventh Avenue, NYC. New York Pops Features Music of ABBA and More

On Friday, October 15 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Steven Reineke leads The New York Pops in the first concert of their 2010-2011 Carnegie Hall season with a program saluting pop music super group ABBA, featuring the acclaimed Finnish vocal ensemble Rajaton. Together, they will present energetic performances of some of ABBA's most popular chart-topping hits including 'Dancing Queen,' 'Mamma Mia,' 'Take a Chance on Me,' and other favorites. The New York Pops returns to Carnegie Hall for six additional performances this season-including three holiday performances.
