The Country House began previews June 3, in the Gil Cates Theater at the Geffen Playhouse, and officially opened June 11. The play, a new comedy about a deeply dramatic family, was written by Donald Margulies and was his sixth Geffen Production, including Dinner With Friends, Coney Island Christmas, Times Stands Still, and Sight Unseen. The Country House closes today.

Theater Ninja is a nomadic theatre company which has no permanent home and appears in store fronts, art spaces, and churches. It was founded in 2006 with the goal of developing innovative, nontraditional theatrical experiences. As founder Jeremy Paul explains, 'We are a risk-taking company.'

TNT has ordered a pilot for L.A. Noir, a new drama series from executive producers Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead, The Shawshank Redemption), Michael De Luca (The Social Network, Moneyball) and Elliot Webb (Tall Time Tales). The project from TNT Original Productions is based on John Buntin's critically acclaimed book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America's Most Seductive City, which chronicles the epic battle between Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker and mobster Mickey Cohen. Alissa Phillips (Moneyball) of Michael De Luca Productions serves as co-executive producer. Darabont is set to write and direct the pilot.

TNT has ordered a pilot for Chelsea General (working title), a new medical drama series from award-winning producer David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, Chicago Hope) and practicing neurosurgeon and CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, M.D. Kelley and Dr. Gupta will executive-produce. Kelley wrote the pilot script for the series, which is based on Gupta's upcoming novel Monday Mornings.

The Museum of Modern Art will present To Save and Project: The Ninth MoMA International Festival of Film Preservation, the annual festival of preserved and restored films from archives, studios, and distributors around the world, from October 14 through November 19, 2011.

Spike TV and reality powerhouse producer Thom Beers take viewers down into the depths of the earth for an unprecedented look at one of the world's most dangerous and compelling jobs, coal mining. Spike TV will premiere the 10 episode, one-hour series starting Wednesday, March 30. The series will be executive produced by Beers' Original Productions, a FremantleMedia Company. The Streamy Awards is the first and most prestigious live awards show dedicated to honoring the actors, directors, editors, producers, writers, and production talent behind some of the best original programming on the Web. More than 150,000 public submissions, covering 2,000 original shows, were narrowed down to a field of just over 100 nominatees.
