Birdland will kick-off their exciting month of programming with the following acts:

Gabrielle Stravelli – the celebrated pop/jazz vocalist and songwriter – released “Cake of My Childhood” on Spotify, the first single from the new album Dream Ago.

Gabrielle Stravelli - the celebrated pop/jazz vocalist and songwriter - releases Dream Ago, her first major recording in a quickly rising career. The album, which is available starting today, January 27, 2017 from the Big Modern Music label, presents a joyous new voice of flexibility and range.

Outside of an arena, few performers can earn a minutes-long ovation without even opening their mouths. But the inimitable Marilyn Maye is certainly one of those performers.

Gabrielle Stravelli - the celebrated pop/jazz vocalist and songwriter - will release Dream Ago, her first major recording in a quickly rising career. The album, which will be available this week on January 27, 2017 from the Big Modern Music label, presents a joyous new voice of flexibility and range.

The great Marilyn Maye is adding two shows to her annual run of "Marilyn by Request" at the Metropolitan Room," Thursday January 19 and Saturday January 21, both at 7pm.  She was scheduled to play through tomorrow, Saturday January 14.

GABRIELLE STRAVELLI - the celebrated pop/jazz vocalist and songwriter called an 'outstanding singer' by The Wall Street Journal and 'hotter than the equator' by The Village Voice - will return with her concert celebrating the legendary songwriters Johnny Mercer and Hoagy Carmichael at Kitano Jazz (66 Park Avenue at 38th Street) on Saturday, January 7 with sets at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

The great Marilyn Maye delivers her annual one-two punch to ring in the new year at The Metropolitan Room with back-to-back shows on New Year's Eve, followed by two weeks of her incomparable "Marilyn by Request" party-shows from January 5 through January 14.

She moved uptown to Birdland at 44th street, Carnegie Hall at 57th and then Lincoln Center's Rose Hall & Appel Room at 60th. Last night she sang in a venue she was born to perform in - Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola at Jazz in Lincoln Center. Marilyn has shared stages with Dizzy Gillespie and other Jazz greats. Hearing her in the Jazz building's most intimate space was another historic milestone added to the long list of her legendary performances. Where will she be in our city next? How about 122nd street - Honorary Doctor of Great Music at Columbia University.

?GABRIELLE STRAVELLI - the celebrated pop/jazz vocalist and songwriter called an "outstanding singer" by The Wall Street Journal and "hotter than the equator" by The Village Voice - will introduce a new evening celebrating the legendary songwriters Johnny Mercer and Hoagy Carmichael at Kitano Jazz (66 Park Avenue at 38th Street) on Wednesday, July 13 with sets at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM. In addition to well-known standards by Mercer ("Dream") and Carmichael ("Stardust") and compositions they wrote together ("Skylark," "In The Cool Cool Cool of the Evening"), the show includes collaborations with other composers and lyricists. The evening also features rare material by the pair from their Broadway Show I Walk With Music and movies from the 1950s and 60s. She will be joined by Art Hirahara on piano, Pat O'Leary on bass and Eric Halvorson on drums.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present jazz singer Gabrielle Stravelli in "On The Road Again" on Monday, April 11.  With a band that included Art Hirahara on piano, Pat O'Leary on bass, Eric Halvorson on drums and Scott Robinson on sax, 'On the Road Again' featured songs Stravelli has collected and composed in travels as varied as a US State Department-sponsored international tour, headlining the Eleuthera Jazz Festival in the Bahamas and a nine-month European tour of Hair.  The show showcased Stravelli's signature mix of eclectic influences including international folk songs, jazz standards, fresh arrangements of pop and musical theater, original compositions from her forthcoming CD release and a preview of her new Willie Nelson tribute 'City Girl, Country Boy'.
