Produced by Emmy award winning producer/director Paul Miller and directed by the acclaimed Michael Kearns, with musical direction by Nashville recording artist Paul Carrol Binkley, Wrap Your Heart Around It won Best Production of the 2012 United Solo Theatre Festival in New York City and has been catching the attention of industry professionals and fans alike.

Elephant Run District presents BRECHT IN THE PARK, three rarely-performed short plays by Bertolt Brecht, translated by Eric Bentley: The Elephant Calf (1926), In Search of Justice (1938) and The Exception and the Rule (1929). Performances run Saturdays and Sundays, now through to July 28 at 4 p.m. (no show July 13), near the southeast corner of the Great Hill in Central Park. People today may be familiar with Spring Awakening, the hit rock musical from 2006. What people may not be familiar with is the source for the Sheik/Sater musical: the play Spring's Awakening by Frank Wedekind. Even more surprising? Wedekind wrote that play in the late 1800s and it debuted in New York almost 90 years before the rock musical. The surprises do not stop there with Marvell Repertory Theatre's fresh and bold new production of the Wedekind play (translated by Eric Bentley) as part of their "Burned and Banned" themed season, which officially opened Sunday, October 14 at TBG Theater and runs through November 4.

Berkeley's acclaimed Aurora Theatre Company announces the four plays chosen as finalists by a committee of local directors for the sixth annual Global Age Project (GAP), the company's new works initiative that promotes the creation of forward-looking theater: Fire Work by Lauren Gunderson; Silent Disco by Lachlan Philpott; Bird in the Hand by Jorge Ignacio Cortiñas; and Our Practical Heaven by Anthony Clarvoe. The selected plays will be presented as staged readings in a four-week festival at the Aurora Theatre, Mondays, February 7-28, 7:30pm, coinciding with the company's fully-staged World Premiere of Allison Moore's Collapse (January 28-March 6). Collapse originated as one of last season's GAP finalists and is the second main stage production to develop from the GAP. Each GAP reading will be followed by an audience discussion of the contemporary issues raised in each work.
