Highlights of the forthcoming productions at the National Theatre, announced today by Nicholas Hytner, include new plays by Alan Bennett, Stephen Beresford, Lisa D'Amour, James Graham and Lucy Prebble. There will be adaptations of Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Simon Stephens, and of The Count of Monte Cristo by Richard Bean. Enda Walsh's Misterman receives its London premiere; classic revivals include Polly Findlay's production of Sophocles' Antigone, Shakespeare's Timon of Athens directed by Nicholas Hytner, Bijan Sheibani's staging of Damned for Despair by Tirso de Molina, and Nadia Fall's production of Bernard Shaw's The Doctor's Dilemma.

Masterworks Broadway has just announced the signing of the Original Cast Recording of Once, a new musical. The album will be recorded on Tuesday, January 17 in anticipation of a March 2012 release, in time for the show's Broadway opening on March 18, 2012.

Following an immensely successful engagement of The Interminable Suicide of Gregory Church by the beloved British writer-performer last year, St. Ann's will present the American Premiere of a new Daniel Kitson show, It's Always Right Now, Until It's Later, January 3-29, 2012.

The Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University has selected two Irish artists - choreographer Michael Keegan-Dolan and playwright and screenwriter Enda Walsh - as the recipients of the third annual Meadows Prize arts residency.

St. Ann's Warehouse, the internationally renowned producer-presenter, has signed a three-year lease with Forman Realty Management, LLC for 29 Jay Street (corner of Plymouth St.), a warehouse in DUMBO, Brooklyn, just blocks away from the organization's current location.

St. Ann's Warehouse has added two performances of Enda Walsh's critically acclaimed Misterman: a matinee on December 21 at 2 PM, and an evening show on December 22 at 8 PM. (The run was previously scheduled to end after the evening performance on Dec 21).

No matter how early you enter the house for New York Theatre Workshop's production of Once, the play is already well underway.  Most of the thirteen-member ensemble, all of whom play musical instruments, seem to have long been gathered inside designer Bob Crowley's cozy Dublin pub, playing traditional folk songs, dancing a bit and singing their hearts out.  The festive mood resembles the kind of improvised jam session you might luckily stumble upon some night and never want to leave, especially since audience members are welcome to join them on stage, purchase a drink or two and linger a while.

Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that casting is complete for the world premiere of the new musical Once, which is based on the Academy Award-winning film. Once begins previews Tuesday, November 15 and opens Tuesday, December 6 at New York Theatre Workshop, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company continues its 2011/12 season with Penelope by Enda Walsh, directed by ensemble member Amy Morton, playing now through February 5, 2012 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St. Penelope features ensemble members Ian Barford, Tracy Letts and Yasen Peyankov with Scott Jaeck and Logan Vaughn.
