Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF announces its lineup of new play readings, workshops, and panel discussions for PlayFest!

Artistic Director Marc Masterson and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein are pleased to announce Actors Theatre's 48th season lineup. 'The 2011-2012 upcoming Brown-Forman series is an exciting multi-faceted program which includes the staging of two classic novels; a heartwarming and honest exploration of the personal impact of war; a three-time Tony Award-nominated play about love, longing, and science, and the regional premiere of an Off-Broadway hit. Plus, an exciting line up of new plays in the 36th Annual Humana Festival and the return of three holiday favorites', said Masterson on his final season selection as Artistic Director of Actors Theatre.

This year, Orlando Shakes welcomes former local resident and PlayFest veteran, playwright Mark Brown (Around the World in 80 Days, The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge, and China - The Whole Enchilada) back to the Margeson Stage for an Inside the Actor's Studio style conversation with Orlando Shakes Artistic Director Jim Helsinger on Friday, April 8, 2011. Mr. Brown's new play, Don Quixote - The Reckoning will be presented as one of two workshops during PlayFest.

The Civilians (Steven Cosson, Artistic Director), the award-winning New York-based theatre company known for projects investigating real life topics, presents Let Me Ascertain You: Pretty Filthy, a one-night-only cabaret performance at Joe's Pub on March 4, 2011 at 9:30 PM. Back by popular demand after sold-out evenings in both NY and LA, the March cabaret offers even more enticing interviews from the company's unique exploration into the adult entertainment industry. Civilians' artists have been out in Vegas and California's San Fernando Valley talking to directors, performers, agents, and producers about the ins and outs of the dirty movie biz: how they do it and what it takes to make it. New excerpts from interviews with well-known adult entertainment figures, as well as new songs by Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson composer and lyricist, Michael Friedman will be performed by the talented cast. Taken from the real-life experiences of Marines and their families, ReEntry provides a look at what it's like for men and women trained to kill to leave the battlefield and return home.

CENTERSTAGE announces USO Thursdays, a partnership with USO of Metropolitan Washington. During select Thursday night performances of ReEntry, a portion of the proceeds from tickets will be donated to the USO, the support program for America's troops and their families in 27 countries.
