Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) will soon present two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster in a Broadway production of Violet, directed by Leigh Silverman. Based on the short story 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts, Violet features music by Jeanine Tesori and book & lyrics by Brian Crawley. Violet will be produced in association with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, David Mirvish, Barry and Fran Weissler, Elizabeth Armstrong, and Mary Jo and Ted Shen. Broadway dreams come true for sixty-four students from across the country when they perform alongside their Broadway idols in The Broadway Dreams Foundation's Circle of Dreams NYC Showcase at New World Stages (340 W 50th Street) tonight, November 25, 2013 at 6:30 pm. Under the direction of Olivier Award-nominated director Stafford Arima and musical direction by Roberto Sinha, sixty-six rising stars will take center stage at the popular Off-Broadway venue home to the Tony Award-winning showsPeter and the Starcatcher and Avenue Q.

Two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster starred in the Encores! Off-Center presentation of VIOLET back in July, and BroadwayWorld has just learned the the star will lead the show on Broadway in the Spring of 2014. Foster, who was previously set to play Sarasota's Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, had to cancel her March engagement because of a scheduling conflict with the upcoming production.

Proceeds from the two shows will go to Story Shifters, an education residency program providing free theater education to New York City students with autism and other learning disabilities.
