It's not summer in NYC until there is hot jazz and red beans 'n rice at the Louis Armstrong House Museum.  Louis Armstrong House Museum announces the line up for its signature summer concert series Hot Jazz / Cool Garden. 

On Friday, June 12 from 7 to 10 p.m., The Jost Project will perform at Chris' Jazz Cafe and salute a legend in Philadelphia - Composer Evan Solot. As Solot ends his final semester at the University of the Arts, where he taught for nearly 50 years, The Jost Project will perform their highly respected jazz renditions of classic rock and invite special guests to the stage who were all influenced by the great Evan Solot.

I'm late to the Luba Mason party. I first took notice of her when I attended a performance of The Civilians' PRETTY FILTHY, and I was impressed by her serenely sensual alto instrument.
